Matthew Bothun Matthew Bothun 6'9" | PF St. Francis | 2023 State MN — Minnesota Fury — 2023
Ranked as a top tier prospect in Minnesota’s 2023 class, Bothun had an outstanding spring. The power forward played for a high-level Minnesota Fury squad and was really impressive. He shot extremely well from three, rebounded, and showed some flashes of versatility on both ends. If Bothun continues to improve, college coaches will be all over the stretch four.
Ian Mindrup Ian Mindrup 6'3" | PF Linn-Mar | 2023 State IA — Iowa Prep — 2023
Mindrup is a really intriguing post prospect. The power forward is a walking double double who can snag rebounds and get buckets in the paint. He possesses great footwork, which allows him to score over talented defenders. Mindrup is also a hard worker on defense. He chases down loose balls and blocks shots. Keep an eye on Mindrup moving forward.
Tate Haughenbury Tate Haughenbury 6'5" | PF North Linn | 2023 State IA — Iowa Prep — 2023
Haughenbury is a tough, physical prospect who refuses to be outworked on the court. The power forward is an outstanding defender — opposing offensive prospects have a really hard time scoring when Haughenbury is on defense. Haughenbury works really hard on the offensive end, too. He grabs offensive boards and makes tough layups.
Fitz Freeman Fitz Freeman 6'6" | C Robbinsdale Armstrong | 2024 State MN — Minnesota Chill — 2024
Freeman is a prospect that is oozing with potential. The power forward has all of the physical tools necessary to find success on the court. Freeman is extremely strong, very athletic, and surprisingly quick. When Freeman is at his best, he is blocking shots, grabbing rebounds, setting good screens, and finishing layups at the rim. Improvement is necessary, but I like what Freeman brings to the table.
Gage Kampman Gage Kampman 6'7" | PF Iowa City Liberty | 2024 State IA — Iowa Barnstormers — 2024
Playing for an Iowa Barnstormers squad that is loaded with top tier talent, Kampman served as an elite role player. Even though he didn’t do a whole lot of scoring, the power forward still was able to make a huge impact. Kampman rebounds, blocks shots, scores when the opportunity presents, and overall is just a fantastic teammate.
Lincoln Palbicki Lincoln Palbicki 6'10" | C Maple Grove | 2023 State MN — Minnesota Chill — 2023
Palbicki was one of my favorite prospects to watch this past spring. The Minnesota Chill prospect is an old school center who can score really well in the paint. He uses a rare combination of size, strength, and skill to get buckets in the post. The center is also able to space the floor and knock down outside shots. I think that some college programs are going to show interest in Palbicki very soon.
Jack Field — House Of Wellness All Stars — 2023
Field is a really high upside prospect who showed off an impressive skillset this past spring. The House Of Wellness All Stars prospect displayed a smooth mid range jumper that appeared unstoppable at times. Field is also an active defender who can guard multiple positions. I like the tools that Field has right now. But if he continues to add some more, he could be a real problem.
