Matthew took over in Saturday’s win over Austin. The North Dakota commit towered over everyone else in this matchup and put his advanced scoring arsenal on display. He is listed at 6’9”, but can move extremely well and has the ability to knock down shots from the perimeter. He used his size to his advantage by backing defenders down in the post, then going to a soft right-handed hook shot for an easy basket. Bothun converted on two and-ones, fighting through loads of contact, while still laying the ball in. Matthew was hitting shots from deep off the dribble and in the catch-and-shoot, he finished with a game-high 34 points in the comeback win for St. Francis.
