<p class="text-gray-700">Bolding was electric down the stretch of a thrilling overtime heartbreaker to Springdale Prep (MD), making several clutch plays in regulation and overtime.<br><br>With Springdale looking to close out the game in regulation, Bolding helped Carroll make a late run, eventually forcing OT on a bomb from just inside halfcourt. He finished with a game-high 17 points.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Woodard moved to Maryland from North Carolina in the summer of 2025 and contributed to Springdale Prep's Maryland Private School State Tournament Championship run last season. <br><br>After a strong offseason, it looks like he's in line for a major breakout campaign with the Lions, and he had his full arsenal on display at Spooky Nook. The 6-foot-4 Woodard has game-changing versatility and plays with athleticism and a motor that doesn't stop on either of the floor.<br><br>Woodard posted 14 points apiece in wins over Academy of the New Church (PA) and Archbishop Carroll (DC), leading Springdale to an unblemished Day 1.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">The Butler commit was excellent in a 51-47 win over Roman Catholic (PA), putting up 20 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds and 4 steals in a strong all-around performance.<br><br>He was efficient (8-of-10 from the field) and showed nice touch from deep, an explosive first step that defenders couldn't stay in front of, and good playmaking instincts.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Barnes is a dangerous scoring guard who can fill it up in a hurry, but also impressed with his ability to create for others. <br><br>Barnes teamed with 2028 <a href="https://prephoops.com/player/yoziah-romero/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prephoops.com/player/yoziah-romero/"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2917325' first='Yoziah' last='Romero']</strong></a> to pull out a hard-fought victory over Gwynn Park (MD). The lefty showed good touch on his jumper, broke down defenders in the halfcourt and transition, and consistently finished through contact in the lane. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Goodlow went 9-of-13 from the field and 5-of-7 from 3-point range en route to a game-high 23 points and the Jaguars blitzed Kent Island (MD) in their opener. He made defenders pay for giving him space on the perimeter, and also chipped in 5 assists and 5 steals. An impressive all-around performance for the junior.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">For the second weekend in a row, Sulaiman impressed me with his two-way impact.<br><br>The Lakers' floor general controlled both sides of the floor in a 48-40 win over CTA Red, posting 14 points to go with 5 steals. Sulaiman kept defenders off balance with his nice blend of strength and quickness, and showed nice touch on his jumper when opponents gave him space. Defensively, he was opportunistic and read passing lanes well.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Wylie has an impressive combination of size and athleticism at 6-foot-8, and puts together stretches of dominance on the offensive end.<br><br>Wylie posted 14 points in a blowout 47-24 win over Life Male Steam, showing nice shooting touch and finishing ability. Wylie is a relative newcomer to basketball, and is only scratching the surface of his potential.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Stanfield III was the Cardinals' most productive offensive performer in the two games I watched Saturday, showcasing nice versatility and an improving inside/outside arsenal that consistently gave defenders issues.<br><br>Stanfield opened with 16 points in a 33-29 win over Indian Creek (MD) and went for 22 points in a blowout victory over Devon Prep (NJ).</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Lyn was productive in multiple games Saturday, but really stood out to me with his 17 points in a narrow 51-47 loss to Clinton Grace Christian (MD).</p>

<p>Lyn showed good hands and finishing ability around the basket. He was aggressive and attacked the basket with authority, and was also a strong presence on the defensive end.</p>
