Scott made his return to action over the weekend after shoulder surgery kept him sidelined all summer. He was only cleared on Friday, and despite some understandable rust early, it didn't take long for him to make an impact. Scott's versatility, scoring touch and toughness immediately jump out, and he's willing to share the ball and create for others.

Scott was originally injured in Meade's overtime 4A state semifinal loss to eventual champion Blake back in March. If the Mustangs are going to make another run, Scott will again lead the way.

The Seahawks graduated several key pieces from last year's 3A state championship squad, and Oxendine is primed to step into the driver's seat after a strong summer.

The 6-foot-2 is a confident and versatile scorer, highlighted by a 25-point outing in a loss to Poly (MD). He did a good job of getting to his spots, and was equally effective on and off the ball. He showed good touch on his jumper and did a nice job of getting into the lane and finishing. He also impressed with his ability to facilitate, consistently finding open teammates.

Oxendine added another 25 points in an overtime win over JM Bennett (MD) to cap a strong weekend.
