UAA 2028s Ready For Big Junior Jumps

With their junior seasons quickly approaching, several prospects in the 2028 class appear ready to take a significant step forward. Whether through expanded roles, continued physical development, or a growing level of confidence, these players have positioned themselves for breakout campaigns that could elevate their recruitment and establish them among the top names in the class.    Mallavarapu has what most look for in a modern big, namely good hands, timing as a shot blocker, and the ability to get up and down the floor. He's made a real jump in his development in recent months as far as his production and consistency and looks poised to be one of the better big men in the state regardless of class.     The thought with Kuqo moving into the area was that he could end up one of the better 2028s- but the early returns have surpassed expectation. A skilled big man who is at his best scoring out of the low post, an improved three point shot has made him even harder to guard. His complete offensive skillset thanks to his passing. As he gets stronger and more assertive defensively, he could end up one of the top bigs in the class nationally.     Another big man who can space the floor as a shooter- Gilhool had a breakthrough AAU season. He was at his best in pick and roll situations, where he either caught and scored it at the rim, or popped and knocked down top of the key threes. Daniel has had the tools to be a high level producer since first entering the high schools ranks, and now things seem to be coming together for him.     Good positional size as a two guard and moves very fluidly. Samb has impressed this year with his ability to knock down shots on all three levels as well as defend multiple positions. Given the bevy of guards on the roster and his length, it wouldn't be surprising to see Hayes deploy him as a small ball four man at times.     Hines stands at a legitimate 6-foot-8 now, and with his length and athleticism, is a real defensive presence. He can close out on the perimeter and does a good job of challenging shots without fouling. While inconsistent still, he has an intriguing inside-out offensive skillset that should draw scholarship attention in time.
