Freshman Showcase: Prospects We're Excited To See More From

The showcase gave us plenty of reasons to be excited about what comes next for this group. From smooth scorers and confident shooters to high motor rebounders and competitive playmakers, each prospect brought something that caught our attention. What makes this group especially intriguing is the room for growth. We saw flashes of skills that can translate, but also areas where these players can continue to expand their games. As they gain confidence, add new layers and become more complete, we'll be excited to see where their development takes them.    Gutierrez showed immense skills and has plenty to like with his length, quickness and ability to score efficiently in transition. He has a confident 3 point stroke and can create enough separation to get his shot off when he wants. Moving forward we want to see him expand beyond being a perimeter specialist. With his size he can impact the game more by rebounding, mixing it up physically and becoming more involved offensively. Defensively his continued growth will be important. If he can add those elements, his scoring ability becomes even more valuable     Preciado was quick and deceptive as a scorer, he did a great job getting to his spots and knocking down shots with comfort and ease. He played with good pace, never seemed rushed and consistently found ways to create clean looks for himself. His ability to change speeds and get into his pull up game made him tough to keep in front of. Moving forward we want to see him continue adding layers to that scoring package and become even more consistent creating for himself and others     Holt showed confidence as a spot up shooter and did a nice job staying ready to knock down open looks. He also brought value on the glass by rebounding his position and competing for extra possessions. That combination gave him a clear role on the floor. Moving forward we want to see him continue expanding beyond the catch and shoot game by attacking closeouts, making plays off the bounce and finding ways to stay involved when the ball isn't coming his way     Schell was a smooth scorer who did a great job using his body to create space and get to his spots without needing much room to operate. He played with good pace and showed a natural feel for finding ways to score in traffic. That ability to manufacture offense stood out throughout the showcase. Moving forward we want to see him continue developing his playmaking and defensive impact while adding more ways to consistently create advantages for himself and his teammates     Grimes was one of those players who seemed to be everywhere, consistently working hard and finding ways to impact the game. He competed on the glass, made the right passes and kept the ball moving instead of forcing plays. His activity and willingness to do the little things gave his team valuable possessions. Moving forward we want to see him continue building confidence as a playmaker and scorer while maintaining that high motor and rebounding presence that made his performance stand out     Burgess showed a reliable shooting stroke and did a good job making his opportunities count when his feet were set. His accuracy from the perimeter gave the offense spacing, while his willingness to rebound added another layer to his impact. He didn't simply stand around waiting for shots, competing for possessions when the ball went up. Moving forward we want to see him become more comfortable attacking closeouts, making plays off the bounce and continuing to find ways to impact the game beyond his shooting
