2027 Rankings Update: High Level Stock Risers

The new 2027 rankings will be updated in the next 96 hours for the public to see. But before we get there, who are some of the high level stock risers? Here are those names!    Taylor has went from a guy listed as all conference to a top 75 guy last winter, to a top 25 guy, to a player that we think could have been division one if we weren't in the transfer portal era. Defensively he is one of the state's best in the paint, Taylor is agile, skilled and hard working. A true candidate for Class A Player of the Year. Huge get for St. Cloud State.     [player_tooltip player_id='1956268' first='Shay' last='Jackson'] is another top level defender in the state. Shay is every bit as good pressuring the ball as Taylor above is working in the paint. Jackson's ball pressure is the most consistently disturbing in the state but he's also a true leader. When the ball moves through him teams win games and CSP picked up on that to land him.     As the summer went on Trey showed all the pieces to his game, he put them together and it landed him a spot at Minot State. Trey is a great passer around the perimeter and high post, he boards, he defends, Trey will hit a three or two, and Theis scores in the paint in active ways. When Theis puts everything together in a steady way he is a very consistent player.     Counce is now at Champlin Park and looking to do with the Rebels what he did with [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite']... raise a talented team higher than the expectations. It's once again a Counce team that was expected to be good that hopes to be great. Counce will once again have some size, some shooters, and some scorers around him and like he did for [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'], and Counce looks to balance it all together for wins as a top five team.     Rylan seemed to go for a guy that MIACs should look into, to a guy that MIACs have to have. His game seemed to be a player that was solid, but now if you are an NAIA you have to think about looking his way to be a scholarship guy you. Rylan is tough, consistent, really smart and productive, a combination that is hard to find these days as players look for more flash and less results. [player_tooltip player_id='2815445' first='Levi' last='Hopp']'s toughness has him jumping about 100 spots and we saw that with the Rise this summer, but it also included a strong winter where Hopp hit nearly 39 percent of his threes scoring 16 points a game. The all around production is there as Hopp had five boards, three assists, and three steals a game playing next to his twin brother who did a lot of the same. Hamline and Central College are schools in pursuit.     I can't watch Brakes without thinking... he is going to outwork the breaks off of his man. The Tech all purpose steady consistent worker might not get the headlines Cook and Jiech may as they look for a state run, but Brakes will be as valuable with all of the different things he does for his team. Nick had an excellent 17u year with Comets Hondl. He shot the ball at the arc better in 17u than he had in the winter and he nearly averaged double figures in 17u which is not an easy thing to do.     I can't sit here and try and pretend that Akan is going to surely go from really good JV player to a main ball handler/playmaker in the Lake for a top five team. BUT..... I can tell you that Akan was outstanding for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075310' first='Northstar' last='Titans'] making decisions, pressuring the ball and attacking the paint helping the Titans be a top ten 17u team in state. If Berisso can transfer what he did in 17u to the Crimson, Maple Grove and Berisso are going to be in a good spot.
