Our 2029 rankings update saw 15 names get added to our list and in this article we'll break down the five highest ranked newcomers to the rankings.

Davie was a prospect I was already very familiar with as I also scout for the Kentucky site on Prep Hoops. When he made the move to Western Reserve Academy in Ohio, I knew exactly the type of prospect they would be getting and Davie's only surprise was reclassifying to the 2029 class in the process. Davie is a man amongst boys in the paint and his physical dominance over northern Kentucky programs made his decision to take the leap to a prep school program make so much sense. Davie is a monster on the block and has improved his explosiveness recently to be able to play above the rim easier. With soft hands and a high basketball IQ, Davie is a winning prospect who should waste no time helping Western Reserve Academy win at a high level.

Lee is a prospect I saw in warmups with Princeton as a freshman and was intrigued by his size and how he moved in drills before the game. This summer, I got to see Lee get the experience he needs to become one of the top forwards in the Cincinnati area down the road. The combination of size, strength and the ability to overpower smaller defenders made Lee an impossible guy to stop at the 15 U level. The fluidity with how Lee moves for his size and age is something you can't teach and he had Division I programs intrigued at various team camps they attended in the month of June. Look for Lee to burst onto the scene for the defending state champions this winter.

One of the top shooters in Ohio, Badenhop had a big Peach Jam as he was lighting it up from long distance for Indy Heat. With solid positional size and an absolute burner, Badenhop can hold his own defensively and put up points in a hurry on the offensive end. Badenhop also plays football for the defending state champions at Liberty Center and his physical progression should improve with that experience in the weight room and playing through physicality and contact. Maybe the best small-town prospect in the 2029 class in Ohio, Badenhop is a big-time talent who fans from across the state need to get familiar with.

There's a handful of prospects with older brothers who played at a high level at the high school and college level from this 2029 class in Ohio and Cochran is one of those guys. His older brother Thomas is a Division I target and heading into his senior season while Andrew gears up for his sophomore season as he'll have the opportunity to play a major role on varsity alongside his older brother. Andrew is a more perimeter based prospect at this stage of his development as he looks to handle the basketball and break you down by changing directions. Thomas has become an impact defender with his length and physical progression over the years and I'll hope to see Andrew make similar improvements on that end of the court. Another top talent from central Ohio, you'll be hearing about the Cochran name for not just one more winter, but three in Dublin.

Jackson is one of the younger prospects in the 2029 class and he looks like it in the face and physically. His age is why I'm buying long term stock in Jackson as he'll have a chance to pass some of his older peers who are in the same grade and played 15 U basketball against him. Jackson had a nice July with [program_tooltip program_id='2076317' first='Midwest' last='Basketball Club 3SSB'] 15 U and helped them advance to the quarterfinals down at Rock Hill. Jackson had 15 points and didn't miss a shot from the floor in their bracket play win over BABC. Jackson is a prospect who will be much better two years from now if he continues to develop his offensive skill and attacks the weight room. Name for college coaches to remember from the greater Cincinnati area!
