Desmond Bane Elite Camp - Ramsey's Top Performers

Despite the summer grassroots circuit wrapping up on Sunday we were right back in the gym on Monday morning. The Desmond Bane Elite Camp came to his hometown of Richmond, Indiana and hosted a very talented group of 2029 and 2030 prospects for a three-hour workout at Earlham College. Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage of the event and have a handful of top performers to highlight.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Arguably the most intriguing prospect in the gym on Monday at the Desmond Bane Elite Camp was this 6'9" center from Grand Rapids Christian. Anyijong has the obvious size and physical tools, but also displayed a soft finishing touch offensively. He finished around the rim well and even knocked down an elbow jump shot. Defensively there is so much upside as a rebounder and rim protector. He was already very impressive in terms of going to high point rebounds on Monday. Anyijong definitely appears to be one of the best long term prospects in Michigan's Class of 2029.     Carpenter should step in right away as a freshman and be a major contributor for Richmond High School. The 6'3" guard has impressive length on the perimeter that he used to be disruptive defensively at the Desmond Bane Camp. He was also impressive in transition as an athletic finisher and solid decision-maker. Carpenter is a two-way perimeter threat that can slide between several positions on both ends of the floor. That versatility will help him be a plug-and-play type of guy in all settings. We are excited to continue to track his development. The athletic and physical tools are definitely there.     It is always fun to watch this guy play. Clevenger is a smaller guard from Tri-Village High School, but is also generally the most competitive and hardest playing guy on the floor. On Monday at the Desmond Bane Elite Camp the left-handed point guard was shooting it well from three-point range and displaying his fearlessness as a driver. He consistently attacked the paint and was able to finish around opposing size. Clevenger is poised to have a big sophomore season and is definitely a highly skilled guard to watch in Ohio's Class of 2029.     Having now seen many, if not all, of the most talented incoming freshmen in Indiana it is clear that Faniel is among the Top 5. The long, athletic, 6'5" guard has such an impressive combination of positional size, athleticism, and skill for a Class of 2030 prospect. He was a dominant force on the defensive end of the floor on Monday at the Desmond Bane Elite Camp consistently using his length to be disruptive in the gaps and passing lanes. Faniel then flashed his playmaking ability in transition after forcing turnovers. He is clearly one of the top in-state Class of 2030 prospects and will play his freshman season at Merrillville High School.     This incoming freshman prospect has had his body change in a major way just over the last couple of months. We first saw Jefferson play with North Central High School at a Purdue shootout in June and then again at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. He was an intriguing wing with obvious athletic tools, but appeared pretty raw still. However, just over a month later at the Desmond Bane Elite Camp he appears to have probably grown an inch and added 10-15 pounds of muscle. The physical tools are really impressive now. Look for him to step in right away and play a role for the Panthers.     Stoddard looks to be a real stock-riser in Indiana's Class of 2029. He has the physical makeup and athletic tools to really blossom as a prospect in the coming years. On Monday he looked the part as a slasher and right-hand driver offensively while also excelling in transition, attacking closeouts, and crashing the offensive glass. The versatile 6'4" wing has a lot of two-way upside and will be one to keep an eye on at Fisher's High School in the coming years.     We had the opportunity to see this prospect play a handful of times over the summer with All Ohio Baneville 15u so we were well aware of how talented he is as a prospect. However, his play on Monday at the Desmond Bane Elite Camp really drove the point home. The 6'2" rising sophomore guard is an absolutely elite three-point shooting threat, but has a well-rounded game beyond that skill as well. He is a very fluid athlete, handles the ball well, and has a very projectable frame on the perimeter. We see Woeste, who is ranked as a Top 10 prospect in Ohio's Class of 2029, blossoming into a very highly sought after Division I prospect.
