There was a real conversation about Anyijong and winning MVP this season and for good reason. A springy athlete who has good touch around the rim and range out to the foul line extended, he is a dangerous scorer. More than that though, his shot blocking, rebounding, and ability to get up and down make him a scholarship player.

Arguably the most intriguing prospect in the gym on Monday at the Desmond Bane Elite Camp was this 6’9″ center from Grand Rapids Christian. Anyijong has the obvious size and physical tools, but also displayed a soft finishing touch offensively. He finished around the rim well and even knocked down an elbow jump shot. Defensively there is so much upside as a rebounder and rim protector. He was already very impressive in terms of going to high point rebounds on Monday. Anyijong definitely appears to be one of the best long term prospects in Michigan’s Class of 2029.

Another 15U player who was competing this weekend against older competition, Pabegg is large-and he says he might even have some room to grow past his current 6’9″ frame!

His size is already a serious problem for opponents. Even when he doesn’t appear anywhere near the ball, he can come out of nowhere for a block or pass deflection.

In the paint, he makes it look simple-going over multiple players for a rebound. And for a man of his size, he can surprise you with a solid passing game.

You can’t teach size and Anyijong already has it as a true freshman in high school at 6’9. His coordination and feel will only continue to get better but he already shows positive activity and effort for team. He may not fill up a stat sheet yet but his upside is certainly there. He gains positioning on the low block at times for catches with poised hands and feet. Made a nice spin move off weakside shoulder to finish. Gains advantage on both ends with plus wingspan. Runs the floor at a solid rate for size. Made a great cut off the ball to retrieve and score at the rim. Future productive big man.
