EYBL/Peach Jam Notebook: NC's Top Performers (Part Two)

As we continue to put a bow on our July Basketball coverage we'll be finishing up our highlighting of the North Carolina Standouts from the month of July on the EYBL which includes Peach Jam. The stakes are at their highest in July and we're going to take a deeper look at this next group of guys that showed out under the swoosh this July!    Duggins has established himself as North Carolina's top 2029 prospect early on in his high school career with his work at Greensboro Day and his production for [program_tooltip program_id='2226228' first='Team' last='CP3'] 15u this spring/summer only solidified that even further. [program_tooltip program_id='2226228' first='Team' last='CP3'] 15u went 3-2 in Peach Jam with Duggins averaging 13.8 Points, 9.0 Rebounds, 1.2 Assists, 0.6 Steals, and 1.2 Blocks per game while shooting 46% from the floor. Duggins also played the entire month with what looked like a modified version of an old school hockey mask to protect a facial injury and it bothered him some but he was still able to play through it at a high level and produce for his team. He's the type of big man that generates a good shot for his team off of every touch.     Kendrick continues to give this [program_tooltip program_id='2226228' first='Team' last='CP3'] 17u group a dynamic pace to their game as he possesses some of the best end to end speed you'll find in high school basketball. This team made it into the final bracket before losing a close one to the Florida Rebels but Kendrick was able to have a real impact with his production. He averaged 14.8 Points, 3.2 Rebounds, 6.7 Assists, and 2.2 Steals per game. Kendrick did all of that while shooting below his normal % from two by a pretty sizable chunk. For Kendrick to still have this impact as a playmaker and find a way to produce on the scoresheet the way that he did was very impressive. His move to Combine Academy should attract other talent to join him as his unselfish approach shined super bright this July.     Gunter has had what can only be described as a truly special travel ball season with this [program_tooltip program_id='2220892' first='Team' last='United'] 16u group and he saw a slight dip in his production/efficiency at Peach Jam but was still able to have a big impact for this group and help them snag a couple of wins in the process. In the five games in Augusta, Gunter averaged 15.6 Points, 4.8 Rebounds, 3.0 Assists, and 1.8 Steals per game. Gunter's ability to score from all three levels and use his strength to empower him on his drives to the basket make him a tough check from all over the floor. Gunter and the aforementioned [player_tooltip player_id='3484998' first='Grant' last='Duggins'] should form a dynamic duo at Greensboro Day this upcoming season!     Robinson continues to see a true uptick in his recruitment as he has simply shined in his role for this [program_tooltip program_id='2226228' first='Team' last='CP3'] 17u group as a guy that can buy into his role and flourish regardless of what it is. He provided a real impact at both ends of the floor off the bench for this team as a connector at both ends of the floor and on the glass. Robinson averaged 3.7 Points, 4.2 Rebounds, 0.7 Assists, and 1.7 Blocks per game while shooting 67% from the floor. He's mobile, athletic, and possesses the necessary foundational skill to make plays on the offensive end of the floor. He didn't play major minutes but did his job at an extremely high level. Expect Robinson to continue racking in offers and play a more enhanced version of this role with Greensboro Day this upcoming season.     Holmes continues to look good as a wing scoring option with Team Thad as he was a consistently productive piece for this group at Peach Jam. The skilled perimeter scorer used his smooth game to exploit mismatches on the offensive end of the floor and also contributed in other areas of the game. Holmes averaged 13.2 Points, 2.8 Rebounds, 1.6 Assists, and 0.6 Steals per game while shooting 52% from the floor. He didn't shoot up to his normal standards from distance as he was around 30% but he showed the ability to impact the game in other areas while maintaining super high efficiency from inside the arc. Holmes will likely be narrowing down his list of next level options soon as the worked his put in over the years has provided him with a ton of options to choose from.     [program_tooltip program_id='2220892' first='Team' last='United'] 15u unfortunately didn't qualify for Peach Jam but they were still able to get some big games in during the Las Vegas session and [player_tooltip player_id='3447414' first='Emory' last='Chaney'] made sure to leave his mark on that stop. In six games his group went 3-3 and Chaney averaged 12.0 Points, 2.8 Rebounds, 2.3 Assists, and 1.5 Steals per game on 51/33/55 shooting splits on the weekend. Chaney is coming off of a really special season at Charlotte Latin as a freshman and found a way to produce at a consistent and efficient rate in this high level, standardized competition on the Nike EYBL. This 2029 class is stacked and Chaney is a major part of that.
