Gunter was absolutely brilliant for Team United EYBL 16u once again as he helped guide them to a 3-1 weekend in Memphis. Gunter averaged 20.5 Points, 4.3 Rebounds, 4.3 Assists, 1.0 Steals, and 0.8 Blocks on 53/53/90 shooting splits for the session. That is simply supreme efficiency at that high of a volume for Gunter who is really establishing himself as a premier guard nationally in this 2028 class. His ability to make shots off the catch while being a well rounded on ball guard make him the kind of guy that flourishes at the next level. He’s always under control with this group and has a quiet, yet contagious confidence that translates to the rest of this lineup. Gunter is a guy we’ll be tracking closely as this 2028 class shakes out, he’s been too good to ignore with his work in EYBL play.

One of the most productive scoring guards on the EYBL Circuit, Gunter is a pure bucket for Team United. Add in Gunter’s impressive playmaking for teammates and he’s all around one of the most talented offensive players in the 2028 class. Gunter finished EYBL Session I fourth in scoring and first in assists at the 16 U level. He put up those types of numbers for a Team United squad that went 4-0, combining elite production with winning basketball. Oklahoma State is the latest high major program to offer Gunter and they’ve done a nice job being early on high school prospects who blow up with dozens of high major offers later in their recruiting cycle. With Gunter’s offensive talent, he could be the next one.

Gunter was flat out brilliant for Team United 16u EYBL who went 4-0 and look like a real contender to win Peach Jam after what they did in session one. For the session, Gunter averaged 20.3 Points, 3.3 Rebounds, 6.8 Assists, 4.5 Steals, and 0.8 Blocks on 51/19/83 shooting splits. Gunter was in total control of the Team United offense and found a way to score efficiently despite the long ball not quite falling at his normal rate. Gunter’s got the ability to capitalize on his own offense within the structure of the team concept. He had incredibly active hands defensively for this group as well, averaging nearly five steals per game. It was a textbook session for Team United 16s and Gunter with even more room for improvement as he looks to return to his true self from beyond the arc. They have a chance to win the whole thing and Gunter is a major reason why.

Gunter continues to shine with Team United 16u EYBL and they had a really strong start to the season with the way they played in Spartanburg at The On The Radar Carolina Mania. Gunter’s ability to both control the game while taking over from a scoring perspective is incredibly valuable to this group. This team might have the best roster of any travel team in the State regardless of age group, so Gunter’s ability to balance his own offense with keeping all of the horses happy will be a great opportunity for him to show his ability to run a team. Gunter has grown to 6’3″ and has added strength to his frame to allow him to finish through contact amongst the tree’s in the paint. He’s got deep range as a shooter and a ton of confidence in that aspect of his game. Gunter helped lead Team United to a dominant weekend including a statement win over Top Shot UAA 16s.

Gunter has had such a special sophomore season at Greensboro Day and is helping lead the charge on one of their best teams in recent memory. Gunter showed us incredible flashes as a freshman but has brought a ton of consistency in his production and winning impact at Greensboro Day who is 34-2 on the season. Gunter has progressed well throughout the course of the season, becoming a more consistent outside shooter and proving he can produce and win in these high level games vs elite competition. Gunter does a great job co-existing beside Marty Giant and they balance the ball handling/PG duties with one another very well. Gunter is still coming into his own as a PG and is showing real progress in that aspect of his game as well. Greensboro Day is hosting Davidson Day tonight in one of the most talent filled games on the NC schedule all season long. Gunter will need to help Greensboro Day execute at both ends of the floor and take over when he needs to as they look to get yet another NCISAA State Championship.

Gunter continues to prove why he is trending toward national prospect status. In a massive showdown this week against Forsyth Country Day, the sophomore guard took over when it mattered most, exploding for 27 points. He is a lethal shot-maker from the perimeter but has shown a refined ability to play with pace, under control, and create for others.

Gunter produced 19 points to help power Greensboro Day’s win over Caldwell Academy this week. He plays beyond his years, knocking down shots from the perimeter and slashing to the rim in transition. Gunter’s scoring surge in the second half helped the Bengals break the game open, as Caldwell had no answer for his quickness and smooth shooting stroke. Defensively, he applied pressure on opposing ball-handlers, contributing to GDS’s stifling effort. Gunter has shown why he is one of the area’s rising stars, his mature poise, ability to score in bunches, and willingness to defend are all traits that bode well for the Bengals’ title hopes and cement his reputation as a high-upside young talent in the Triad.

A composed playmaker and high-level scorer, Gunter runs the show with control and pace. He gets to his spots, shoots efficiently, and delivers in crunch time. He scored 17 points with 6 rebounds to lead GDS past FCDS early in January, showing why he’s considered one of NC’s premier sophomore guards.

Gunter had a signature performance in what was a signature win for Greensboro Day as they knocked off IMG Academy in the 3rd place game of the Coby White Bracket. Gunter finished with a game high 24 Points on an incredibly efficient 7-14 from the floor and 3-4 from deep. Gunter also added 4 Rebounds, 2 Assists, and 2 Steals to round out the contributions. Gunter has grown from his listed 6’0″ height and has done an incredible job in the weight room to embrace the physical aspect of the game. Gunter is wired to score it, one of the best scorers to play for Freddy Johnson in recent memory and should have a monster career at Greensboro Day. The outside touch, the aggressiveness, ability to finish with both hands, and all doing it in the flow of the offense makes Gunter a big time prospect to monitor in NC’s 2028 class.
