Whiteland Shootout (6/16) - Ramsey's Top Performers

We obviously enjoy covering the big events such as the Indiana All-Star Series, IBCA Top 100, and the upcoming Charlie Hughes Showcase. However, we also like getting around to other events throughout the week that give us the opportunity to see different teams. On Tuesday we went to the Whiteland High School Shootout for a handful of games and had the opportunity to see several teams for the first time this summer. Here are some of the individual top performers from our day in the gym on Tuesday.   <hr class="wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity" />    Davison is one of the most talented pure scorers in Indiana's rising junior class. That was on display at the Whiteland Shootout on Tuesday. Not only is the New Palestine guard an excellent three-point shooter, but he also has the physical size and strength to finish at a high level off of the dribble. He is a capable driver going either direction and showcases the ability to finish with both hands as well. Davison put up some big time scoring numbers as a sophomore and should continue to do so heading into his junior season with the Dragons.     One of the more athletic and physical wings that you'll find in Indiana's rising senior class, Edwards all over the defensive glass on Tuesday while also scoring it in a variety of ways for Whiteland. Edwards had one of the most impressive dunks of the summer so far as he rose up over a defender off of a baseline drive and threw it down with two hands. He also shot it well from three-point range and used his positional size to finish in the paint consistently. There is a lot to like about this 6'3" wing and his recruitment should really take shape throughout the rest of June and into July.     The physical tools always stand out when watching this 6'4" wing from Terre Haute North. He can bully his way to the basket off of the dribble, finish through contact at the end of his drives, and crash the offensive glass for putbacks. It is hard for other guards and wings to handle his strength around the basket. Hammond also found his outside shooting stroke a couple of times on Tuesday knocking in some catch-and-shoot three-point shots. He will once again be a main guy for Terre Haute North and should garner a good deal of college attention heading into the Charlie Hughes Showcase and the month of July.     We had the chance to see Hudson earlier this spring with [program_tooltip program_id='2076166' first='Grand' last='Park Premier'] and now again on Tuesday with his Eastern Greene team at the Whiteland Shootout. The 6'1" guard has so much offensive skill. He is an excellent three-point shooter which he had on display making a couple of deep, tough ones off of the ballscreen. Hudson also is a very good passer hitting open teammates consistently. There will be a lot on his plate this season as a junior to carry the offensive load, but he has the talent to do so.     After a breakout junior season this 6'2" has become one of the top spring stock-risers in the state. Kalkat is an efficient scorer from all three levels, has the athleticism to beat people off of the bounce and elevate to score at the rim, and is a proven high-percentage jump shooter. All of that was on display on Tuesday, but also flashed his excellent passing ability. Kalkat projects as a true combo guard who can really score it and also serve as a secondary playmaker within your offense.     Loyd got hot from beyond the arc on Tuesday and was knocking in three-point shots in a variety of ways. He made them off of the ballscreen, he pulled up in transition, and he knocked in catch-and-shoot looks when playing off of the ball. The 6'0" guard is a talented shot-maker for Terre Haute North. Not only did he having it going from three-point range, but he also made some tough pull-up jump shots in the midrange as well. He plays with good pace and does a good job of creating separation for his jump shots.     We've seen Pardue play very well this spring a couple of times with Mac Elite so he has absolutely been on our radar as a potential breakout rising sophomore at New Palestine. However, Tuesday against Terre Haute North might have been as good as we have seen the 6'2" versatile guard/wing play. Pardue poured in a game-high 31 points in the contest while scoring it from all over the floor. He made catch-and-shoot three-point shots, drove it relentlessly to the basket, and finished at the rim. There is a lot to like about his well-rounded, two-way talent.
