Here's some of my top guard evaluations from the 2027 class. Please note that these aren't evaluations for guards son all the teams. Just the ones I covered. I'll have more evaluations for the next live period.

East St Louis guard has a strong physical guild and showed he can really change the tempo vs Bolingbrook. Does not fear larger defenders as he found his way on the inside quite a bit against Bolingbrook. Also showing he can finish with both hands in tight windows. Then showed some bouncy with a put-back dunk while snagging tough boards on both ends. Probably one of the best rebounding guards I've covered in his class.

Johnsonis another 2027 guard with solid versatility. Good shiftiness on display against Bolingbrook. But his ability to be a productive 3-level scorer really catches my eye. Took over against Bolingbrook Friday afternoon as he converted a step-back contested mid-range shot and a three pointer plus a pair of acrobatic finishes at the rim. Led the flyers with 31 points and a win against Bolingbrook that game. A bit smaller at about 6'0" but could be a difference-maker for small schools.

Woods is a 6'5" 2027 guard set to play a much bigger role with Bolingbrook this season. His impact on Friday did not go unnoticed for the raiders. He's got a lengthy overall build and can really get in your face when guarding on the ball. Boxed out at a highly effective rate on both ends of the floor, too. With the ball in his hands, he's an unselfish player with a pass-first mentality. But he isn't afraid to let it fly and create his own bucket.

DePaul Prep 2027 G is the kind of glue guy that can do a bit of everything for you. He sets screens and moves well off the ball on offense. But he also showed he can catch fire with several 3-pointers against Fremd Friday afternoon. Defends hard and can really frustrate an opponent on the fall. Has a very polished stance with great footwork.

Hicks played well against Loyola. The 5'11" guard excelled at breaking past double teams and out-dribbling opponents through the contest. But his footwork and creativity as a passer was also very relevant. Even knocked down some buckets from distance. Added a nice euro-step bucket later on in the contest. A name small schools should keep on their radar.

Alvarez is a solid sharpshooter out of Loyola that comes up with key buckets when you need them. Smooth shooting stroke that was on full display against Rockford Auburn on Saturday. Even showed he can create off the dribble and take mid-range shots throughout this game. Auburn made it a priority to have him covered as much as possible, knowing the threat he is from outside. Big second half in this game with multiple three pointers with an acrobatic reverse layup as the cherry on top.

Fully grown 6'4" point guard with outstanding physical tools. I'm a big fan of his ball handling and playmaking abilities. Something you don't normally see from a guy like him. In many instances, plays with his build tend to play like a post prospect. But not Fuller. He sets the tempo and is a highly productive playmaker. The guy that gets you dimes with ease. And will still take advantage of his frame to finish tough shots near the rim.

Guilford guard has that pop in him. A bit smaller but the guy that changes the tempo of the game with his tenacity and energy. Dribble moves were excellent, displaying a unique way to break past opponents and score creatively against Homewood-Flossmor. Even stepped into a 3-pointer at one point. Overall, a very underrated floor general that is a key playmaker with his speed.

Wessell's a 6'5" guard/forward for Mount Carmel that stands out with his physical frame and athleticism. Got up for a big time dunk in transition when covering his game vs Lincoln Park. Showcased strength attacking the rim later in the game with a couple fouls drawn. Also showing he can stretch out on the perimeter and buried back-to-back triples in the second half. Now 6'5". Probably a shooting guard at the next level. Playing more a forward role for the Caravan.
