The PureFocus NW Big Stage took place last week on Tuesday and Wednesday at multiple sites on the west side of the Portland Metro area and we had the opportunity to drop by and take in some action. Here are some of the top performers that we saw.

There was no single player that we watched that was more dominant than Martinov. He was flat out unstoppable on offense - in a win over Thurston, he pulled out his entire bag with step-back threes, strong pull-ups in the lane, and finishes at the rim in transition. The rising senior guard pretty much did whatever he wanted to with the ball in his hands, which also included finding open teammates for baskets. When it was all said and done, the statsheet showed 29 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and a number of defensive plays. No longer a sleeper prospect but one of the top seniors in the state, Martinov committed early to Santa Clara.

The top individual scoring performance we caught at the NW Big Stage was from Keith, who poured in 33 points in a 67-62 win over Central Valley. While he got some strong finishes around the hoop both in transition and off putbacks, it appeared that the rising junior was pretty locked in on taking jumpshots - of which he had good success. He showed a confident stroke from both the mid-range and beyond the arc, sinking three from deep. As usual, his length and athleticism was a factor on the defensive end with both blocks and steals and he finished with a team-high 8 rebounds.

If there are any doubts about how Lugo might fit in with his new teammates at Clackamas, you can easily put those to rest. The rising senior guard simply merges into whatever is being run out on the court and his abilty to create with the basketball for himself and others will be great for the Cavs. In their win over Thurston, his jumper was sharp, he beat defenders off the dribble to the basket, and helped out on the boards as well. 17 points and 7 rebounds total.

Huge game for Unruh in the game we watched, a win over South Salem. The rising senior guard was locked in with his jumper, both from the mid and long range, but was also strong with his drives and finishes at the hoop. It appears he's added some strength to his frame, which paid off with big dividends as he was a huge force on the boards for the Beavers. He finished the game with 28 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists.

Burke immediately caught our attention when he knocked down four threes in the first half of Willamette's win over South Salem. The rising senior ended up hitting five total but in addition to the smooth shooting stroke, he used his strength to get some baskets around the hoop, drawing all sorts of contact. Also a willing passer, the Wolverines soccer standout ended up with 5 assists to go with his 19 points and 7 rebounds.

With his length, ability to run the floor, and natural shot-blocking instincts there's a lot to like about Campbell. In Willamette's win he also did a good job on the boards and offensively, picked his spots stepping out for a number of jumpers, including a three. The rising junior finished the game with 11 points, 8 rebounds, and a couple of blocks.
