The 21st annual IHSAA/IBCA Charlie Hughes Memorial Showcase tipped off on Friday. There are 210 teams competing across over 350 games between Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. and Sunday evening at 5:00 p.m. Prep Hoops Indiana will have boots on the ground coverage the entire way from the opening tip until the final buzzer. Here are some of the top individual standouts that I had the chance to see on Sunday.

Baker-Lands had dozens of college coaches following him around all weekend. The 6'2" guard has a ton on his plate this season at Plainfield, but showed off his ability to handle the work load throughout the Charlie Hughes Showcase. He handles the ball well, is a capable playmaker, and really showed off his scoring/shooting ability. On Sunday he poured in 40 points in an overtime contest against Austin High School. The Plainfield High School rising senior remains one of the top mid-major prospects in the state. We have been very high on his two-way ability in the backcourt for a long time now.

A breakout rising junior from the weekend was this guard from Scecina Memorial. The Crusaders had a very impressive 3-1 record and Collins was a major part of their success. He is an explosive 6'1" guard that gets downhill in a hurry and can really elevate to finish up around the rim. Collins scored 21 points in an impressive win on Friday morning and then backed it up with a huge 26-point outburst in a win on Sunday. He continues to prove himself as an up-and-coming guard to follow closely in the Class of 2028.

A consistent top performer throughout this spring and summer, Gilbert put a bow on his month of June with a strong performance on Sunday morning. The athletic, versatile 6'5" wing from Lawrence North High School scored it from all over the floor. He had some tough, creative finishes at the end of his drives while also showing off his silky smooth pull-up jump shot. Gilbert's combination of positional size on the perimeter, athleticism and aggressiveness when attacking the basket, and skill level as a jump shooter makes him a very intriguing prospect. There should be more offers heading his way sooner rather than later.

Franklin Central had a very impressive showing against South Bend St. Joseph on Sunday afternoon with this 5'11" rising senior guard leading the way. He is a talented scorer that can hurt you in a variety of ways. Hayes is a proven playmaker off of the bouncing having averaged 3.9 assists per game last season. However, he is also a pure scorer. He flashes some explosiveness when attacking the basket, gets good elevation on his jump shot, and knocked in a couple of three-pointers as well. Hayes went on to score 37 points in the contest. Under-the-radar guard that small colleges should be monitoring closely.

Logan had a breakout junior season that he has carried into a stock-rising summer for a Brebeuf Jesuit team that is proving itself to be one of the best Class 3A teams in the state of Indiana. The 5'9" guard is an excellent three-point shooter and very athletic off of the bounce as a driver. He scored 22 points in a very impressive performance against Ben Davis on Sunday. Small college programs need to have Logan on their list. Solid under-the-radar prospect that should have a big senior year as part of a very good Brebeuf backcourt.

Ranked as at the #1 prospect in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2029 Rankings, Mohler showcased his impressive abilities in front of high-major college coaches all weekend long at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. His unique blend of size, skill, athleticism, and strength is really special for a rising sophomore. Mohler's best performance came while leading Austin to an impressive showing in overtime against Plainfield. He scored 33 points in that contest. Indiana was the latest school to extend an offer, but there will be plenty more to come.

We had the chance to get first look at many of the top incoming freshmen in the state of Indiana at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. It will still be a while before we do any sort of ranking, but in terms of pure production no Class of 2030 prospect had a better weekend than this 6'3" wing from Crispus Attucks High School. His physical strength and physicality when attacking the basket was very impressive to see out of a player his age. Patterson averaged 27.0 points per game while leading his team to a 4-0 weekend. Specifically on Sunday he scored 26 points and 37 points respectively in the Tigers' two games.

We have been high on this prospect for awhile now and he continues to prove us right with each viewing. Smith III has such impressive positional size and length on the perimeter. He is a 6'5" guard with legitimate chops as a primary ball handler and playmaker. On Sunday he was very impressive operating out of the mid-post against smaller defenders showing off a smooth turnaround jump shot and throwing some pinpoint passes across the floor as well. He finished with 16 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in one game on Sunday and 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists in North Central's other contest.

It has been a very good summer for this 6'2" Yorktown High School rising senior guard. Trammell has played his way into becoming one of the top stock-risers in the state of Indiana. He is an outstanding shooter with great footwork on the perimeter and uses his fluid athleticism and length well to finish at the end of his drives to basket. On Sunday he capped off an excellent weekend at the Charlie Hughes Showcase by going off for 40 points against Perry Meridian. Trammell is a scholarship-level guard that should continue to see his recruitment heat up coming out of this weekend.

There has obviously been a lot of fanfare and expectations placed on Smith from a young age. He is taking the reigns at Westfield High School this season as an incoming freshman and has quickly proven that he is up for the task. The 6'0" point guard was outstanding all weekend long at the Charlie Hughes Showcase, but saved his best performance for Sunday scoring 26 points against a very talented Cathedral team. Smith's outside shooting ability was very impressive to see this weekend. He is absolutely one of the best Class of 2030 prospects in the state of Indiana.
