The wait for Westfield fans is over. Another Smith is ready to take the reigns as the Shamrocks starting point guard. Maddox Smith Maddox Smith 6'0" | PG IN , the younger brother of former Indiana Mr. Basketball and Purdue legend Braden Smith, has made an instant impact already this summer. On Sunday at the Charlie Hughes Showcase he had his best individual performance yet scoring 26 points against defending Class 3A State Champion Cathedral. Smith can really shoot it from three-point range, but has the ball handling and playmaking ability that you would expect in a lead guard as well.

Another incoming freshman that made a big impact this weekend was Westfield guard Maddox Smith Maddox Smith 6'0" | PG IN . Smith, who is the younger brother of Pacers guard Braden Smith, looks to be another Smith that is going to have a big time career for the Shamrocks. With this being my first time watching him, it is clear that he has the green light for Westfield and can play at a high level both on and off the ball. He hit some real impressive shots over the weekend.

There has obviously been a lot of fanfare and expectations placed on Smith from a young age. He is taking the reigns at Westfield High School this season as an incoming freshman and has quickly proven that he is up for the task. The 6’0″ point guard was outstanding all weekend long at the Charlie Hughes Showcase, but saved his best performance for Sunday scoring 26 points against a very talented Cathedral team. Smith’s outside shooting ability was very impressive to see this weekend. He is absolutely one of the best Class of 2030 prospects in the state of Indiana.
