The 6-foot-8 forward has an awesome motor and appears taller than he is, but he also moves extremely well for his size. He scored tons of points all weekend, mostly in and around the paint by way of his length and finishing ability. He takes contact well, he knows how to find openings in the defense even when taller bigs are present in the paint, and he fights his behind off for loose balls and rebounds. Scarff should get some D1 buzz if he has a good year for MacDuffie this season, and he's off to a great start.

Workman was phenomenal for MacDuffie this weekend. The 6-foot-5 wing has extremely intriguing size and strength, which makes him ridiculously versatile on both ends of the floor. Defensively, the postgrad can guard all positions because of his toughness, footspeed, and athleticism. Offensively, he has a really nice-looking shot but can also drive closeouts and finish quite athletically at the rim. Workman should be an important part of a good MacDuffie squad this season, and he'll get lots of scholarship buzz.

Hill was excellent in his opening weekend for CATS, and he looks like he might hold the starting point guard position this season. The 5-foot-8 guard is obviously undersized, but he's one of the quicker guards I've seen and can get a paint touch whenever he wants. Once he gets near the rim, he does an excellent job reading the defense and is a really solid passer. Defensively, Hill plays 94 feet of aggressive defense for the entire game, and he's a total nuisance to dribble against. He already has an offer from Towson, but more could come if he has a big year for CATS.

Rodrigues was a major bright spot for Suffield in his first weekend playing NEPSAC hoops. In one of his Saturday games, The 6-foot-4 wing shot the ball very well—he looked comfortable and confident, and the arc and rotation on his ball was very consistent. But his unique blend of athleticism, strength, and finishing ability (which is the cornerstone of his game) also translated quite well to this level. He rebounded his behind off and consistently ran the floor for easy buckets, but he also showed off some improved passing instincts and finesse in the paint, both of which will be huge for his continued success at this higher level. Defensively, he guarded all positions and did a good job staying solid at all times. Rodrigues looks primed to be an important piece for Suffield this season, and his performance this weekend has led to a bunch of scholarship schools reaching out.

Brigham is big time. I wanted to see how his game would translate to this level before making any D1 claims about him, but I've seen enough. The 6-foot-3 guard looked nervous in his first half of NEPSAC ball, but then he looked like he had it all figured out about 10 minutes later. His ability to get his shot off in the mid range is special—he's an unbelievable vertical athlete and has phenomenal footwork and feel—but he can also finish at the rim and is a good passer when the defense collapses on him. Defensively, he's a playmaker who always seems to be around the ball. Brigham gives me Reed Sheppard vibes, and I think he's a mid-major D1 player.

Hoffman wasn't a name I knew before this weekend, but he really surprised me with his play on both ends. The 6-foot-8 forward is a total workhorse on both ends of the court and does every single little thing you could ever want as a coach. He rebounds, gets loose balls, rim runs, and sets crushing screens, but he also has the skillset and length to finish in the paint when his rim running leads to easy looks. Phillips Exeter has tons of impressive players in their front court, but something tells me Hoffman is going to be extremely difficult to keep off the floor this year. He's just a total winner who does all the right things.
