As circuit basketball takes a pause and players start to work with their high school programs, now feels like the perfect time to assess where things stand heading into June. I'll start with the 2027 class in Kansas, breaking down which players have made a push up the rankings and which ten names are currently pushing towards the top.

Holman is a name you could put right up there with almost anybody else and argue has had the biggest — and most influential — growth this spring. He's been asked to do a little bit of everything and has benefited from seeing his overall game grow exponentially. Dailan's strength and power on the wing have made him a tough cover, as he's gotten into the painted area seemingly at will. In doing so, he's created scoring and playmaking opportunities as a slasher and plays well through contact. He's also shown he can handle the ball, often under pressure, while knocking down shots from deep consistently and at key moments. The most aggressive and versatile defender on this list, he can guard positions 1 through 4 and brings a true blue-collar mindset on that end of the floor.

Trelc's rise this spring appears to have elevated him into the top tier of players in the state, while also leading to his first next-level offer in the process. His perimeter shooting in person may be his most notable scoring strength, but he's also been effective attacking off the dribble and finding cracks in the defense. He can finish with either hand, but also relies on a creative and unique in-between game, where he finds success as a scorer. He has additionally picked apart defenses as a passer and creator, consistently finding teammates in space and generating scoring opportunities at a high level.

Munnings is another guard who has improved his stock with strong point guard play this spring. Led by his unique and overwhelming athleticism, he's played with a pace and quickness that has been almost impossible for defenders to match up with. He can dart in and out of ball screen actions, reading and exploiting different coverages while consistently pressuring defenses with his scoring ability. Mike has shot the ball well from behind the arc and finished with touch and feel off two feet. He can also turn up the heat defensively as one of the better perimeter defenders on the ball — forcing turnovers and creating chaos.

Another player who looks to be turning a corner, Alholm's last few months have seen him start to have success in different situations with or without the ball. As an elite athlete, Cade is still at his best in the open floor, where he can push pace and go from rim to rim quickly while also skying above defenders as a powerful finisher. In the half court, he's shown he can play on the wing and with his back to the basket — recognizing and exploiting different matchups. As a driver and cutter, he gets into the paint often and finishes plays with force. Defensively, Alholm can guard multiple positions and protects the rim with his length and quick-twitch instincts.

McGuire has exploded this spring as one of the state's better shooters, particularly from long range. With his quick release and ability to run off screens and dribble handoffs, Brecken creates space in different ways. He's shown he needs little to no space, and when he gets going, he can both get hot and stay hot. He's also added value in the open floor, both handling the ball and getting to the rim. He can finish at the rim and has a growing floater game that also looks to be trending up. As his offensive game continues to grow, there's more to McGuire's package seemingly from week to week — showing a more layered and evolving scoring arsenal. Brecken's nose for the ball also drives his defensive impact, adding two-way value that has pushed his overall game to a new level.

The state's best overall frontcourt prospect, in my opinion, Deng's value can't be summed up in just a few sentences. The impact he makes on both ends is something you don't see often. With tremendous length, timing, and mobility, he can control games on both sides of the floor. Defensively, he's continued to erase shots left and right this spring, especially around the basket, while also switching onto smaller perimeter players and shutting them down. He covers up a lot of mistakes and plays the passing lanes effectively as well. Offensively, he's shown growth creating his own offense and attacking off the bounce. He's always a lob threat at the rim and consistently finds open space around the basket. He's playing strong and efficiently in tight areas while drawing plenty of attention from defenses on a regular basis.

Walsh is another name whose play has generated an offer this spring. He's playing with tremendous pace, and while he may not be an elite athlete, he uses a combination of angles, change of speed, and craftiness to get wherever he wants on the floor. While he can control the game as a passer, his scoring has also taken a step forward, as he's producing from all three levels with a more than reliable perimeter shot that he can get to quickly off the bounce. Brendan can operate in both isolation and ball screen situations, consistently finding space and putting pressure on defenses to rotate — often shrinking the floor and creating open looks for teammates.

Kerrigan is one of the most versatile and toughest players in the state, and he does it with an unselfish approach. He's more than comfortable and always capable of doing whatever is needed to help his team find success. This spring, he's played mostly as an interchangeable piece — screening, initiating offense, and even handling the ball at times. He's been effective scoring around the basket, both in traffic and as a cutter finding open space. Conor's feel and IQ on the floor seem to separate him from other players, as he consistently gets the most out of his frame and athleticism, often outthinking opponents. His impact hasn't stopped there, as he's guarded nearly every position on the floor with success and had breakout games as a rebounder on both ends.

Vinson's spring has been eventful. While many would still say he's flying under the radar, he's made plenty of noise with his play on the floor. He's been a knockdown shooter all spring and isn't afraid to let it fly from anywhere on the court. As good as he's been off the catch, he's been just as impressive off the bounce — whether he's using ball screens to create separation or breaking defenders down in isolation with his quick handle. Lincoln's play in the open floor has also shown growth, using his quickness and developing frame to get to the basket, where he finishes possessions with a crafty and deep finishing package.

It's hard to argue with what Moses brings to the table. His combination of physicality and skill makes him a tough matchup, especially when he's operating with the ball in his hands. Playing with ProSkills this spring, his athleticism has continued to show up as he attacks the rim with force and flies through the air defensively to protect the basket. He's been quick off the bounce, showing a noticeable first step that consistently allows him to get downhill and finish at the rim. Avery's footwork and ability to use his body almost always create space for him to score in tight areas. With a perimeter shot that has also flashed, there's a lot to like about the top player in the state, and his progression continues to trend upward.

As circuit basketball takes a pause and players start to work with their high school programs, now feels like the perfect time to assess where things stand heading into June. I'll start with the 2027 class in Kansas, breaking down which players have made a push up the rankings and which ten names are currently pushing towards the top.
