I struggle with calling Cade a frontcourt player because he is an agile competitor at 6’6/6’7 that can run the floor, attack from the wing, etc. But Cade has a long wing span and looks almost 200 pounds so it really looks like you could use him as a stretch four man in addition to being a three man too. His agility would make him really good at defending ball screens and switching screens as a four stepping to a number of positions, and the agility to be a help side Jaden McDaniels style help defender with length and a quick bounce is there. His added length combined with the skill and quickness would allow Cade to beat other fours off the dribble to use his agility, quick bounce and length to finish at the rim. Can hit the three, can turn with back to basket quickly to finish before defense reacts, and you have to love the two foot-two hand physical finish at the rim. One of the more fun prospect videos to watch.

Another player who looks to be turning a corner, Alholm’s last few months have seen him start to have success in different situations with or without the ball. As an elite athlete, Cade is still at his best in the open floor, where he can push pace and go from rim to rim quickly while also skying above defenders as a powerful finisher. In the half court, he’s shown he can play on the wing and with his back to the basket — recognizing and exploiting different matchups. As a driver and cutter, he gets into the paint often and finishes plays with force. Defensively, Alholm can guard multiple positions and protects the rim with his length and quick-twitch instincts.

Alholm, an athletic forward, has slowly been making the transition to more wing play this spring, and he’s had a lot of success in transition. He can push the pace with or without the ball and put pressure on the rim with his ability to finish up and over — or around — defenders. Cade has a knack for finding the paint in the half court and can even fall back on playing with his back to the basket in certain matchups. Defensively, he’s taken on a variety of assignments, often matching up with opposing wings or guards and keeping them in front while still being able to battle inside. He’ll have a chance to showcase more of his developing perimeter game this weekend in Kansas City at the RecruitLook Live Period. If the shooting continues to come along and he can consistently create openings off the bounce, there’s more than enough there for coaches to like what they see.

Alholm’s 33-point, 16-rebound performance against Washington was one of the most impressive outings in Kansas this season. What stood out most was his ability to create with the ball in his hands, rising confidently off the bounce and playing with a level of elusiveness that kept defenders off balance. He consistently created space and used his size to elevate over defenders.
Alholm was also effective playing with his back to the basket, sealing smaller defenders and scoring efficiently, while executing well in ball-screen actions by rolling hard to the rim and finishing through contact. On top of his scoring, he controlled the glass on both ends, repeatedly generating extra possessions and second-chance opportunities. His impact has Olathe East trending in the right direction, looking stronger by the week and emerging as a legitimate contender heading into the spring.

Cade is a rapidly rising prospect out of Kansas, showing impressive development in a short period of time. His athleticism immediately stands out — he runs the floor hard and plays well above the rim, bringing energy and explosiveness on both ends. Alholm’s biggest strength lies in his slashing ability, consistently finishing through contact and in traffic around the rim. While he’s still refining his perimeter shot, his growing confidence and mechanics suggest real potential as a more complete offensive threat. With his athletic tools and upward trajectory, he is firmly on the radar as a high-upside prospect to watch this winter.
