About Dailan
Expert Analysis
Daniel Siehndel | Prep Hoops Scout
Holman is a name you could put right up there with almost anybody else and argue has had the biggest — and most influential — growth this spring. He’s been asked to do a little bit of everything and has benefited from seeing his overall game grow exponentially. Dailan’s strength and power on the wing have made him a tough cover, as he’s gotten into the painted area seemingly at will. In doing so, he’s created scoring and playmaking opportunities as a slasher and plays well through contact. He’s also shown he can handle the ball, often under pressure, while knocking down shots from deep consistently and at key moments. The most aggressive and versatile defender on this list, he can guard positions 1 through 4 and brings a true blue-collar mindset on that end of the floor.

Holman put together another strong weekend, continuing to show the tough, rugged style of play that defines his game on both ends of the floor. He operated with the ball in his hands more than I’ve seen in the past, consistently getting downhill and creating offense off paint touches. His handle held up well under pressure, and his powerful frame allowed him to get to his spots when needed. Dailan’s perimeter shooting also proved to be a factor, while his ability to finish in transition remained a clear strength. Defensively, there are very few questions about what he brings to the table. He competes at a high level on that end, has the versatility to defend multiple positions, and consistently hits the glass to close out possessions.

The more you watch Holman play, the more impressed you come away with what he brings to the floor. While he may not be a household name yet, he’s been hard to miss throughout the spring. Dailan plays with a different kind of edge on the wing, using his physicality and strength to his advantage on both ends of the floor. Defensively, he really sits down and competes, using his strength, explosiveness, active hands, and quick first step to defend multiple positions and create disruptions. He’s an unselfish offensive player, attacking in advantage situations with his wide shoulders and low center of gravity as he gets to the rim. His best offensive trait is clearly his slashing ability. He doesn’t need to dominate the ball, often getting downhill in just a few dribbles while also showing he can make plays as a passer when needed. Holman will be one to watch this weekend in Kansas City at the RecruitLook Live Period.
