Walsh, another player I’ve covered at length throughout the spring and summer, has made some of the biggest waves over the past month. Embracing the role of both scorer and playmaker while navigating the Pro16 gauntlet, his ability to stay under control and find creases and openings almost makes the game look effortless.

He’s scored the ball at a high rate this summer, perhaps the best stretch of scoring throughout his high school career, which in turn has forced college programs to take notice.

With a recent Division I offer from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, it will be interesting to see which other programs continue to reach out and when he ultimately makes his decision. Regardless, he’s a name to continue monitoring this fall and into the winter months.

The game is against SA Future and the first touch from Walsh was a dribble separation freeze that Walsh then attacked after the defender got their knees locked up. And the next time down with the defender already on his heels, Brendan used another dribble separation to hit a pull-up. The D1 offered guard had his defender on his their heels in a panic less than five possessions into the game. It was only five minutes into the game and SA was sending a double at Walsh at times. The defense was so tight on Walsh that his third score was a made three, and he was fouled on the release because of a tight close-out.

As the first half went and we saw Walsh score on seven different possessions, the term “surveying” kept popping into my head when Brendan had the ball. It was amazing how quickly he would see the defense and quickly attack the right angle, and then use his crafty skill to find the final space for an attempt. Walsh had 17 points in the first half.

The basket that will likely stand out to me the most was a bigger SA player picking Walsh up full. The player had length and stayed with Walsh for a bit, but it was as if Brendan liked the challenge and wanted the challenge to seem foolish, so he crossed the wing over, stepped back, and nailed a three. Then jogged back calmly as he approached 30 points for the game.

One of the biggest shots of the game was likely the second chance three that put PAC up 73-69 down the stretch. Future got a stop, didn’t get the ball, and after some movement Walsh hit a crucial stretch triple. The biggest make was about a minute later when Walsh used a ball screen to hit his 4th three of the contest to up 76-73.

Walsh had 37 points on 13 of 20 shooting including four threes. Walsh also sunk 7 of 8 foul shots and grabbed six boards.

The 6’3 guard had a massive weekend in Virginia scoring in big numbers including a couple 30 plus point games. Texas A&M Corpus Christi offered Walsh a scholarship this morning and a number of other programs are now prepared to watch Walsh in Texas this weekend in the final live period.

Walsh can play both guard spots but right now his beautiful jumper has everybody excited about the type of player he can be at the next level. Plays with PAC Basketball .

Walsh is another name whose play has generated an offer this spring. He’s playing with tremendous pace, and while he may not be an elite athlete, he uses a combination of angles, change of speed, and craftiness to get wherever he wants on the floor. While he can control the game as a passer, his scoring has also taken a step forward, as he’s producing from all three levels with a more than reliable perimeter shot that he can get to quickly off the bounce. Brendan can operate in both isolation and ball screen situations, consistently finding space and putting pressure on defenses to rotate — often shrinking the floor and creating open looks for teammates.

Brendan, another lead guard whose recruitment has been relatively quiet as of late, saw that change over the weekend thanks to multiple efficient and effective performances, while also showing one of the stronger basketball IQs I’ve seen so far this spring. He operates with a level of comfort and understanding that shows up in the pace he plays with, allowing him to run the offense primarily with the ball in his hands and deliver a balanced floor game — creating for others as a passer while also adding value as a creative scorer. He reads primary defenders well, whether it’s gaining a step or getting them off balance to create space or force rotations. His ability to score in the mid-range and around the rim may be his biggest growing asset at the moment, as he looks increasingly comfortable operating in those areas. At the same time, he continues to provide a perimeter shooting threat that keeps defenders honest and guessing — the marks of a point guard who can impact games quickly.

Walsh has flashed moments so far this spring, showing he’s just as comfortable playing off the ball as he is with it in his hands. Brendan’s finishing, especially off two feet, has shown a growing level of athleticism, and he’s also proven he can finish with either hand and in a variety of ways to throw off shot blockers. With solid feel in transition, he keeps the pedal down and consistently puts pressure on opposing defenses. This spring, he’s also excelled at creating space more efficiently, giving himself room to operate and read defenses. He should continue to round into form, especially if his perimeter shooting continues to show up both off the catch and off the bounce. Brendan will be in Tulsa for the Pro16 Live Period and NXTPro Live Period.

Walsh returns from the All-State team as an elite scoring guard whose offensive talent sets the tone every time he touches the floor. With a smooth shooting stroke, quick first step, and the ability to create his own shot from anywhere, he consistently puts pressure on defenses and sparks his team’s momentum. His confidence with the ball and knack for making tough plays look routine make him a go-to option in big moments. As a returning standout, Walsh brings experience, leadership, and a proven scoring ability that makes him one of the most dangerous guards in the game.

Brenden Walsh has solidified himself as a top-five talent, dominating the KC area with his elite scoring ability. He’s the kind of offensive threat who can take over a game at any moment—whether it’s creating off the dribble, knocking down shots from deep, or finishing through contact. Walsh’s confidence and consistency make him one of the most feared scorers in the region, and defenses are constantly forced to adjust just to slow him down. His rise is no fluke; he’s proving night after night that he’s one of the premier offensive players in Kansas City.
