Primetime Players: Best of the 15U at Heart of America Hoopfest

With so many good performances, we wanted to highlight some more players from this division today. Cooper is also a polished passer offensively, and makes it a priority to feed the post before moving without the ball. Defensively, he plays extremely hard and walls up ball handlers well. His active hands and feet were able to disrupt ball handlers throughout the weekend. Despite his frame, he was also able to consistently get past defenders and live in the paint. Cody showed a knack for finishing around the goal also, providing a spark to his teammates both on the floor and on the bench. His free throw shooting mirrored his 3-point mechanics and he was able to consistently knock down his foul shots when he got to the line. He was able to switch on to perimeter players and hold his own with good body positioning. Axel benefited from some great passes and was able to finish inside early against KC Sixers Supreme to give his team some confidence. The Omaha Westside product showed that he can also put the ball on the deck from the perimeter and attack defenders off the bounce. He sees the floor very well and also showed an ability to move the ball from outside the paint, creating good angles to setup teammates. Finally, his work as a screener was able to open up a lot of open shots for others. He had very active hands and was able to force errant passes in multiple games this past Saturday. Jenson was also used as a primary ball handler for KCBA, keeping his eyes up in transition and looking to push the ball to open teammates. When playing off the ball, he also seemed very comfortable looking for his spots.
