Here is a look at what I saw in the games I evaluated in Windy City War: Scotty B's Sunday Notebook!

[program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 16U Get Major Production from Central Illinois

Kicked the morning off at 8 AM with [program_tooltip program_id='2452456' first='Mac' last='Irvin Fire'] 57-30 win which was dominated by a trio from central Illinois. After not seeing him on Saturday it was a pleasant surprise to see the highly ranked Metamora wing on Sunday. Strong bodied, skilled, and productive wing that can really shoot it from three, box out on boards, and wall up defensively. He had 15 points. Peoria High 2028 wing [player_tooltip player_id='2963387' first='JJ' last='Duffin'] had a strong showing playing off his athleticism in the open floor. Excellent in transition long with slick takes off the bounce as he had 12 points. Richwoods top ranked 2028 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2531961' first='Amarion' last='Smith-Holley'] continued to show his special burst and handles, pull up shot from beyond the arc, and on the money passing. Their big man duo of [player_tooltip player_id='2834463' first='Amari' last='Williams'] (Shepard) and [player_tooltip player_id='2384522' first='Elijah' last='Shim'] (Lindblom) did a nice job competing on the glass, defending in the paint, and scoring when opportunities presented themselves. Evanston combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2531970' first='Ben' last='Ojala'] is such a connective piece along with his plus shooting from beyond the arc.

Depth of Brad Beal Elite 15U Too Much for Davis Brothers Elite

Brad Beal Elite cruised to a 71-39 victory over Davis Brothers Elite. It was a big game for two gurd Ben Freije who came out aggressive and kept it up all game long. The skilled and crafty wing banged in multiple threes along with getting in the lane for crafty finishes. He had 13 points. CBC point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2195000' first='Stacy' last='Sorrell'] continues to shine as one of the next star PGs out of STL. Southpaw got to the rim and out in the open floor for a lot of buckets scoring 12 points while also making everyone around him better. East St. Louis wing [player_tooltip player_id='3576059' first='Emurion' last='Jackson'] impacted on both ends with what he did defensively, rebounding in traffic, and playing above the rim. Keon Griffin is an athletic three and D wing that shot it well for 10 points while Jeremiah Harrington brought a lot of intangibles in a 10 point outing as well.

Sam Powers is a small forward for Davis Brothers Elite that can stretch the floor with his three point shooting. Blake Przybylski is a high level three point marksmen that poured in a trio of deep as well.

Pettigrew and Hawkins Put on Show for BBE 16U

The Brad Beal Elite 16U group won 88-39 their final game of the event. It was the [player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] show as the Bolingbrook star lived up to his #1 ranking in 2028 with an epic performance. Early in the game it was a plethora of shot making with deep threes, hesi into pull up 2, strong baseline takes, euro steps, and he finished it off with an eastbay dunk near the end of the contest. Went for 23 points. Once again Homewood Flossmoor point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2467517' first='Darrius' last='Hawkins'] had a huge game continuing his momentum all weekend. The shifty left handed point guard poured in four triples showcasing tough shot making on several step backs. Pushes in transition with his speed and is so quick with his change of direction. He had 18 points. Benton (AR) wing Anthony Spratt showed this weekend why he is a national recruit with his elite athleticism, high-motor, and ability to defend at a high level all over the floor. Monster in transition, quick to glass, and has potential with the jumper notching 13 points. Austin Sears closed out a strong weekend with another good showing as the skilled and tough guard had 13 points including three from beyond the arc.

Midwest Bobcats Sleepers to Track in 2028

Despite falling to a pair of EYBL teams it was a great learning experience for Midwest Bobcats on Sunday. Their top prospect is St. Viator's [player_tooltip player_id='3454823' first='Landon' last='Ray']. Skilled wing with solid size that gets on the glass and has potential to be a good shooter especially in the mid-range. Rolling Meadows tough minded wing [player_tooltip player_id='2951744' first='Halil' last='Pekovic'] finishes very well around the basket with reverse layups and floaters. Evan Powers out of Cary Grove is a wing that competes and won on straight line takes. [player_tooltip player_id='2951200' first='Timmy' last='Van Gorp'] is a stretch four from Fremd that can shoot it from 15 feet out to beyond the arc.

Big 3 17U Squeaks by Indiana Game in a UA Rise Battle in One of Best Games of Weekend

This was probably the most competitive contest we saw all weekend as Big 3 UA Rise topped Indiana Game UA Rise 61-60. Both teams played very well as a team and were well coached. Rochelle big man [player_tooltip player_id='2779481' first='Warren' last='Schweitzer'] went to work inside early and often. The skilled and strong bodied post rebounds very well in his area, has nifty footwork, and stretches it with his shooting as he notched 19 points. Richmond Burton guard [player_tooltip player_id='2125632' first='Gavin' last='Radmer'] also had a strong game as the 6'2” guard recorded 21 points draining five from beyond the arc along with several acrobatic layups. Chuck Schwartz out of South Carolina was excellent scoring 20 points as a strong and skilled combo forward with a feathery touch on his shot from mid-range and three bulling up while being able to score in the paint as well netting 20 points.

For Indiana Game their two guard Griffin Ott-Large was nifty scoring in the paint, made quick passes off live dribbles, and was an effective three point shooter as he notched 19 points in the loss. Dakori Parker is a point guard that can shoot it from beyond the arc at a high level pouring in four of them en route to 14 points. Big man Colin O'Hara jumped off the floor to us at 6'10” as a center who brings major athleticism, legit size and length, along with the ability to really impact defensively as a rim protector. Brings the ability to run the floor as well.

[program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] Scores Narrow Win vs [program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Behind Deep Group of Under the Radar Prospects

In a game that came down to the wire [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] 17U won against [program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] Black. [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] presents a lot of under the radar prospects that have physical and athletic tools. [player_tooltip player_id='2532316' first='Chaden' last='Harvey'] out of De La Salle is a strong bodied wing that can score from all three levels, board, and get to the line. Pair of smaller point guards in Brooks guard [player_tooltip player_id='2432131' first='Isaiah' last='Hall'] and Fenwick guard Daelon Wofford both shot it well from three. Unity versatile power forward [player_tooltip player_id='3437783' first='Vincent' last='Allen'] is a rangy defender that can handle it a little. Torrence Watson is a 6'8” post from Julian and Marcus Johnson is a 6'2” athletic shooting guard from Hansberry that look the part and are prospects to track.

For [program_tooltip program_id='2078374' first='Full' last='Package'] they got a big game out of Stevenson guard Kavin Patel.
