Twin Cities Takedown: Jack's Top 2029 Prospects

Here are seven freshmen that impressed at the Prep Hoops Twin Cities Takedown!    Elijah turned in an excellent weekend with [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat'], showing off his full skillset. I really like his long-term potential as a wing prospect, already standing at 6'7” and possessing a lot of skill on the perimeter. He is a confident shooter from beyond the arc, looking very comfortable knocking down open threes off the catch. Christenson was able to score inside in a variety of ways, being able to go to work with his back to the basket and attack the rim off the dribble.     Gio is coming off of a productive freshman season with Class 4A runner-up Apple Valley, looking more than ready to step into an expanded role next year. The 5'11” guard was a microwave scorer this past weekend, taking over at points in the games I watched. He was tough to stay in front of with the ball in his hands, forcing defenders to play up on him due to his shooting presence. Horton was getting buckets from inside and outside, making it look easy playing up.     Justus is another 2029 prospect fresh off a productive freshman season for a state contender. The 6'5” forward looks like he has expanded his game, showing off a lot of improved skill and athleticism. He is automatic on finishes around the rim, but also looked really good working on the perimeter and in the open floor. He threw down a pair of bigtime two-hand dunks in transition and made a couple nice passes to give his teammates easy scores. Dayee used his size and strength to work with his back to the basket as well.     Timmy turned in a productive weekend with [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite'], bringing so much table as a lead guard. He really impressed me with his defense and endurance, as he rarely subbed out but was pressuring opposing ball handlers at all times. Offensively, he ran the point for his team, being such a tough guard with his tight handle and ability to play at different speeds. Thomas is also a knockdown shooter from the perimeter and showed off some nice touch around the basket over larger defenders.     Kyle is such a tough competitor and was bringing it his all in a win over [program_tooltip program_id='2075485' first='Gain' last='Elite']. He is tough and strong, as the 5'11” guard had no issue slashing to the basket and finishing through contact from forwards. He is very quick and was effective when getting out in transition, creating for his team. Joyner is capable of scoring from all three levels and was defending at a high level, applying pressure and forcing turnovers.     I was not super familiar with Adonis' game headed into the weekend, but it was very evident as to why he is a top ranked 2029 prospect in Minnesota. The 6'3” wing is an exceptional athlete, as he was a difference maker running the floor in transition. He had some nice finishes at full speed and was great on the offensive boards, which led to some putback baskets. Williams' size and athleticism is very rare for his age, as he will be a prospect to monitor in the state for years to come.     Cody was key in [program_tooltip program_id='2075674' first='Minnesota' last='Heat']'s win over Mpls Hustlers this past weekend, impacting the game in a variety of ways. The 6'4”-6'5” wing is a skilled ball handler and was looking to attack every time he could. He was able to work himself inside for some tough finishes through contact, also being a scoring threat on the perimeter. Woitel-Anschutz is one of the most athletic prospects in the state's 2029 class, as he is fun to watch when he gets in the open floor for a dunk.
