Having built up quite a bit of a palpable buzz before the start of his freshman season, [player_tooltip player_id='2508723' first='Michael' last='Postell Jr'] handled that target on his back with poise and legitimately built a reputation as one of the state's most highly touted freshman under first year head coach Chris Simpson in a turn around season at St. Benedict's Prep, particularly with the intrigue that continues to surround his long term upside as a dynamic and twitchy guard with a unique blend of positional size and strong ball skills. Turning in a number of strong and aggressive scoring performances over the course of his first year, Postell Jr demonstrated his confident and natural scoring ability— dangerous perimeter shooting ability as a spot up shooter and off the dribble while also creating his own scoring opportunities with a quick and controlled handle to get to downhill and finish with craftiness around the basket mixed with creating separation for smooth mid range pull ups and tough fadeaways. Effective in the open floor, Postell Jr also generated a ton of offense in transition, often times showcasing his athleticism for explosive above the rim finishes. Equally impactful on the defensive end with his lengthy arms paired with his energy and effort, Postell Jr proved to be disruptive in the passing lanes and ware down opposing ball handlers to force turnovers. Though he's still in the early stages of his development, Postell Jr. has clear upside to grow into one of the top prospects in the 2029 class.

Amongst a group of the more athletically gifted prospects here in the state of New Jersey is [player_tooltip player_id='2969733' first='Tysean' last='Scott'], a prospect who's physical tools immediately pop, having emerged as an instant impact wing on both ends of the floor. An intriguing blend of glaring elite athleticism and remarkable length, Scott shined as not only as an explosive and aggressive slasher but also as a versatile highlight reel defender. A relentless downhill attacker, he consistently finds ways to exploit driving angles and attack closeouts, using his explosive first step and elite burst off the bounce to apply intense pressure on the rim, finishing with soft touch and craftiness from different angles around the basket. His athleticism shines in transition as well, where he sprints the floor and gets ahead of the defense routinely and finishes emphatically, often times getting on the rim. With plenty of development still ahead coupled with the intrigue that surrounds his athleticism and skillset, Scott is definitely a prospect worth tracking.

A physically imposing guard/wing with noticeably broad shoulders and glaring athleticism, [player_tooltip player_id='2763190' first='Asaad' last='McLean'] is a prospect who consistently excelled at attacking downhill and applying constant pressure at the rim. His explosiveness routinely stood out throughout the course of his freshman season—especially when he capitalized on open driving lanes and attacking closeouts. Leveraging those physical tools paired with the constant energy and effort he plays with, McLean also impacted the game on the offensive glass as a ferocious rebounder who rebounds extremely well for his position as well as in transition with powerful above the rim finishes, pushing the break himself as well as a lane runner in the open floor. A part of his game that is necessary to him developing into a more well rounded guard and countering that immense amount of rim pressure he generates is his perimeter shooting and McLean showed really strong flashes of that outside shooting ability— showing more consistency and efficient on catch and shoot looks, ultimately adding a valuable complement to his aggressive slashing style and becoming a more versatile scoring threat.

With the dynamic of this extremely deep and versatile Seton Hall Prep backcourt, [player_tooltip player_id='2884521' first='Bryce' last='McCray'] established himself as a valuable contributor amongst this rotation, consistently providing strong guard play off the bench. Behind countless potent performances and providing a legitimate spark plug offensively, McCray provided value in the versatility he brings to the offense— spacing the floor with his perimeter shot making prowess off the ball as a spot up and movement shooter, solid PnR decision making threading pocket passes to rollers and rejecting screens to attack the basket, providing a steady level of ball handling as an additional reliable ball handler when the offense called for it, while also letting the attention he draws as a perimeter shooter to attack closeouts, get into the paint and finishing effectively with soft touch floaters and crafty layups around the rim.

As just a freshman, [player_tooltip player_id='3536400' first='Braelen' last='Blackmon'] quickly established himself as a reliable and productive guard amongst Morristown Beard's backcourt. Thriving in a unique role that required him to be efficient as an off ball scorer while also being effective as a decisive facilitator. Capitalizing off the gravity and defensive pressure some of the other guards in this Morristown Beard group saw, Blackmon excelled as an off ball floor spacer consistently being a threat to knock down open three point looks while also attacking closeouts to get in the paint and finish around the basket while mixing in some smooth mid range area pull ups. Beyond his scoring impact, Blackmon demonstrated solid decision making as a ball handler initiating offense at times and creating scoring chances for his teammates— in several PnR situations, finding open rollers and divers and finding open shooters for in rhythm looks out on the perimeter while also being a connective passer to unselfishly pass up good looks for even better looks for his teammates.

With a distinguishable reputation having been built well before the start of his freshman season due in large part to the glaring physical tools he possesses and what those tools could translate into skillset wise later down the line, [player_tooltip player_id='2879104' first='Flory' last='Kuminga'] put together an impressive year one that supported much of that intrigue that has surrounded him for quite some time now. One of the class's most physically and athletically gifted wings, Kuminga showed more consistent flashes of being a two way impact player— attacking driving angles with fearless aggression and finishing strongly with either hand at the basket, countering his slashing ability showing long term promise as a perimeter threat, being a viable option as a lane runner in transition for explosive above the rim finishes all while taking noticeable strides as a ball handler, exuding a stronger and more confident handle and improved feel as a passer. Defensively, Kuminga's length and athleticism stood out through a number of highlight worthy stops— pinning shots against the glass, being disruptive in the passing lanes and deflecting passes, and consistently disrupts opposing ball handlers at the point of attack. With rare physical tools, there are few prospects in his national class that can reach the heights that Kuminga can if he's able to fully put it together.

A confident and dynamic ball handler who as just a freshman emerged as an extremely reliable and productive guard for this Paul VI group, [player_tooltip player_id='2884564' first='Seth' last='Dozier'] possesses an acute understanding of the game and a keen instinct for creating opportunities as both a driver and facilitator coupled with poise and pace against ball pressure. Dozier consistently delivered on offense, excelling as a scorer and playmaker alike— attacking the basket decisively, whether facing up from the perimeter or exploiting closeouts off the ball, finishing creatively from multiple angles. With a quick and compact shooting release, Dozier also presented a legitimate threat from beyond the arc. Adept at reading defensive schemes and navigating PnR coverages, he reliably showed an ability to make smart decisions and sets up teammates in prime scoring positions. As a central figure in Paul VI's guard rotation, Dozier maximized his opportunities, showcasing his scoring and playmaking skills against some of South Jersey's stiffest competition. On defensive end of the floor, he leveraged his long reach and quick footwork to consistently disrupt plays at the point of attack, offering his ability to be a true two way impact point guard.

Further along than most of his counterparts offensively here in the state of New Jersey with not only his feel as an overall playmaker [player_tooltip player_id='2884567' first='Dominic' last='Mauro']'s freshman campaign routinely saw him prove to be a seamless fit in the backcourt— combining confidence and composure to excel as an outside scoring threat while also contributing as a reliable ball handler, standing out for his impact across a variety of plays. As a perimeter shooter, Mauro demonstrated notable versatility—knocking down opportunistic catch and shoot threes in rhythm and knocking down open shots off movement with smooth and repeatable mechanics while countering that outside shooting touch attacking driving lanes off the bounce, finishing with finesse and converting a variety of soft touch runners from multiple angles in the paint. Mauro also excelled as a play finisher in transition, often getting ahead of the defense and converting easy scoring opportunities at the rim. Beyond his shooting, Mauro comfortably assumed the role of secondary ball handler, initiating offense when needed and consistently making smart and decisive reads in both transition and half court situations.
