May is over half over, meaning the spring season is coming to the end. Essex County is filled with talent, especially in the back court. Here are the 2027 Essex County point guard prospects to track over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201947' first='Anthony' last='Gonzalez'], 6'1 Seton Hall Prep

Gonzalez is one of the top point guard prospects in the class and should put it on display over the next couple of weeks. The 6'1 guard has a lightning quick first step, which he uses to blow by his defender and can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Gonzalez is more than just a slasher as he has a nice release on his jumper and can shoot either off the catch or dribble. He finds his open teammates in the half court and jumps passing lanes on the defensive end. Gonzalez is a talented guard prospect who should run the offense effectively over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201949' first='Ayyub' last='Wilson'], 6'0 Arts

Wilson has the potential to have a big June as he should show his ability to play on and off the ball. The 6'0 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to get to the rim and is a crafty finisher around the rim. Wilson can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He threads passes to his open teammates in the half court and slides his feet on the defensive end. Wilson is a tough guard prospect whose ability to make plays at both ends of the floor will help his stock in a big way during June and July.

[player_tooltip player_id='2504912' first='Chace' last='Redler'], 6'3 Millburn

Redler has been on a tear and should continue it into June and July. The 6'3 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can get hot from distance in a hurry. Redler moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He is an underrated passer and has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor. Redler just picked up a D1 offer from Marist and is looking to add to his offer sheet this June and July.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201964' first='Elijah' last='Caldwell'], 5'6 East Orange

Caldwell had a strong junior campaign as he helped the Jaguars take home the sectional title. The 5'6 guard plays with composure on the ball as he rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure and is able to find his open teammates in the half court. Caldwell has a nice touch on his floater and makes his opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He pushes the pace well in transition and is a tough on-ball defender. Caldwell is a gritty guard prospect who should find his open teammates and run the show smoothly over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2380816' first='De-an' last='Armstrong'], 6'0 Payne Tech

Armstrong has the opportunity to have a breakout summer as he should have the ball in his hands more. The 6'0 guard has a clean shooting stroke and moves well without the ball in his hands. Armstrong can also get to the rim off the bounce and is unafraid of drawing contact. He works hard on the defensive end and is an underrated passer. Armstrong's passing along with his ability to stretch the floor is something that will help his game over the next couple of months.
