The 2027 rankings update came out on Monday with over 250 prospects taking part of the rankings. The combo guard position is filled with talent as players had big seasons to help their stocks in a big way. Here are the top combo guards from the 2027 rankings update.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201953' first='Jayden' last='Johnson'], 6'1 Elizabeth

Johnson is the top ranked combo guard in the update after a big season for the Minutemen. The 6'1 guard has a smooth shooting stroke and can shoot either off the catch or bounce. Johnson is more than just a shooter as he uses his quick first step to blow by his defender off the bounce and can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. He can also play off the ball and slides his feet on the defensive end. Johnson is a dynamic guard prospect whose ability to put up points in bunches will be on display during the AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2234403' first='Ray' last='Fernandez'], 6'4 Blair Academy

Fernandez has the ability to have a big spring as he has the ability to play both on and off the ball. The 6'4 guard has a good release on his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. Fernandez moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open jumpers and layups in the half court. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated passer. Fernandez is a talented guard prospect whose ability to stretch the floor will help his stock in a big way over the next couple of months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201950' first='Elijah' last='Colon'], 6'1 Shabazz

Colon had a big junior season for the Bulldogs as he helped them win the Group 1 title. The 6'1 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to blow by his defender and can finish in a variety of ways around the rim. Colon is more than just a slasher as he can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He jumps passing lanes on the defensive end and can find his open teammates in the half court. Colon had big moments down the stretch for Shabazz and is looking to carry over that form into the AAU season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2347952' first='Jahlil' last='Owusu'], 6'4 Bergen Catholic

Owusu helped the Crusaders repeat as Non-Public A champions with his ability to make plays at both ends of the floor. The 6'4 guard has a quick first step, which he uses to beat his defender off the bounce and finishes strong around the rim. Owusu uses his size to see over his defender and rarely forces shots in the half court. The 6'4 guard uses his length to make an impact on the defensive end and is an underrated rebounder. Owusu is a versatile guard prospect who should put his game on full display during the AAU months.

[player_tooltip player_id='2910156' first='Jaidyn' last='Boyd'], 6'3 Lenape

Boyd had a breakout junior season for the Indians as he helped them reach the sectional title. The 6'3 guard has a nice shooting stroke and has the ability to get hot from distance in a hurry. Boyd can also get to the rim off the bounce and can finish through contact. He is a strong rebounder and can thread passes to his open teammates in the half court. Boyd is a talented guard prospect who should get more opportunities to play make with the ball in his hands this spring.

Other Prospects to Watch:

[player_tooltip player_id='2344534' first='James' last='Roberts'], 6'2 East Orange

[player_tooltip player_id='2709454' first='Brooklyn' last='Jelinsky'], 6'4 Wayne Hills

[player_tooltip player_id='2201961' first='Va'Shaun' last='Harper'], 6'1 Newark Tech

[player_tooltip player_id='2344526' first='MJ' last='Jarrell'], 6'2 Morristown Beard

[player_tooltip player_id='2347876' first='Santana' last='Hodge'], 6'1 Lawrenceville

The 2027 rankings update came out on Monday with over 250 prospects taking part of the rankings. The combo guard position is filled with talent as players had big seasons to help their stocks in a big way. Here are the top combo guards from the 2027 rankings update.
