USE CODE “baxley30” FOR 30% OFF THE FIRST PURCHASE OF ANY SUBSCRIPTION

Each rankings update brings its share of movement, but this cycle highlighted a group of prospects who made some of the biggest jumps on the board. Inside the Top 150, several players saw their stock rise in a major way, building off strong seasons and impactful performances to separate themselves from where they previously stood. These are the names gaining momentum across South Carolina and continuing to trend in the right direction.

First up on the list of Stock Risers Inside the Top 150 is Class A State Champion [player_tooltip player_id='3147253' first='Javarious' last='Wyche']. I have quickly become a huge fan of Wyche's game, but honestly, he wasn't placed correctly when he was first inserted into the Class of 2026 Rankings in November. Javarious was moved up over 100 spots, now just outside the top 50, after seeing him dominate 1A competition and look just as good against tough teams. The first game that comes to mind when thinking about how good Wyche can be is the December matchup with Ridge View, the eventual D1 Champs, where he was one of the best players on the floor and continuously made his presence felt with his strong frame, excellent playmaking instincts, and knockdown pull-up game.

Another elite guard who made a big jump in the rankings is Rouse. Like Javarious, Thomas stepped in the biggest moments this season, proving he can play at the next level. Notable games include 28 and 4 against Byrnes, plus 20+ points and 6+ assists in the final game of the regular season and the first game of the playoffs. Rouse made up part of one of the best backcourts in the state this season, and his improvement this season is one of the biggest reasons why the Eagles well-outplayed their preseason expectations. He does have a smaller frame, but Thomas is more than capable of excelling off the ball with shooting or running the offense with facilitating and athletic finishing.

Down in the Lowcountry, Terrell had an excellent senior season to earn an offer from Paine College, receive an invite to the North vs South All-Star Game, and get moved up from #180 to #63 in the Class of 2026 Rankings. Johnson has natural length and athleticism, but he's put in the work to become an efficient perimeter shooter and one of the most impactful defenders in the state. Those are two areas that his coach harps on, which proves that Terrell is programmed to work and improve as a player. In his final year, Johnson averaged 10 points per game and 2.4 steals per game on 38% three-point shooting.

Butler is another intriguing wing to know from the 2026 Class. He is off the board, having recently committed to Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but he projects as someone who could be an impact player once he gets a year or two to develop. His shooting needs no development, as he put on some elite displays from the perimeter this season, including a 40-point game with nine makes from behind the arc. Where Kevin needs to improve is with his strength and ability to make plays off the dribble, but those go hand-in-hand, and I have no doubts he can be a serviceable wing at the very least.

One of the most high-ceiling prospects in the 2026 Class is Williams. However, he remains somewhat off the radar because he played 1A ball at Horse Creek Academy. Jordan can do a little bit of everything: hit jumpers, play with his back-to-the-basket, create off the dribble, protect the rim, and even work the glass. I think he would fit best in a system that plays a hybrid four, but he could also be worked into a big three if given a year to improve his perimeter game and handle past two or three dribbles. Williams holds offers from Claflin and SC Central Christian, both of which are intrigued by his combination of length and athleticism.

Eli had a monster senior season at Mauldin. He put up 11.0 points per game, 9.1 rebounds per game, and 1.0 blocks per game, dominating the paint every time he took the floor. Saint-Amour isn't the biggest or bounciest post, but he has a big frame to wear down thinner forwards and tremendous instincts as a shot blocker and offensive rebounder. Eli can try to do too much on offense at times, but with improved talent around him and the option to focus on creating stocks and tracking loose balls, he could be a strong role player at the next level.

Rounding out the first group of stock risers is [player_tooltip player_id='2909160' first='Sidney' last='Montgomery']. Montgomery didn't have glaring numbers in the 2025-26 season, putting up just 6.9 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game, but he did have an impact that expanded beyond the box score for a solid Liberty squad. He has intriguing length to be a factor defensively and makes plays above the rim on both ends of the floor, too. Sidney holds one offer from Columbia International University.
