Butler is another intriguing wing to know from the 2026 Class. He is off the board, having recently committed to Converse University in Spartanburg, South Carolina, but he projects as someone who could be an impact player once he gets a year or two to develop. His shooting needs no development, as he put on some elite displays from the perimeter this season, including a 40-point game with nine makes from behind the arc. Where Kevin needs to improve is with his strength and ability to make plays off the dribble, but those go hand-in-hand, and I have no doubts he can be a serviceable wing at the very least.

Butler has some intriguing length from his wing position, but he will need to get stronger to reach his full potential over the next four years. Kevin has a really nice lefty stroke and is typically an efficient shooter. He is off to an interesting start to the season from a statistical standpoint, because his shooting numbers are down despite being second on the team with 9.0 Points Per Game. Butler is also a bit of an anomaly for a high school wing because instead of contributing on the glass, he will fill it up with passing (3.0 Assists Per Game).

Rounding out my list of standouts from the Phenom Challenge is Kevin Butler Kevin Butler 6'5" | SF Catawba Ridge | 2026 State SC . Although he is on the thin side, Butler has gifted length that helps him affect the game in multiple ways. He has an efficient lefty stroke from the outside, a floater with soft touch on the inside, and can make life difficult for opponents on the defensive end. Kevin also has terrific instincts for the ball – both on the glass and in passing lanes. Butler went for 17 points in a loss to Stars Gold.
