Preston was a bright spot in Catawba Ridge’s loss to Abraham Lincoln (NY) in the 3rd-Place Game. He flashed his long-term potential as an elite scorer with 11 quick points in the second quarter. Heffner is at his best when looking to get to the rim, and he just has a knack for beating defenders off the dribble and finishing around bodies. Preston also showed some craft in scoring in transition and knocked down a catch-and-shoot three, the latter being a huge piece in his outlook as a college prospect. Keep an eye out for this Sophomore to have a solid region season for the Copperheads.

. He has been on a tear since re-joining CPB this month, and continued that with a big first game in Bermuda Run. The first thing that jumps out at you when you watch Preston is his length, as he uses it effectively on both ends of the floor. Heffner also has lots of moves in his bag to be an efficient paint scorer, including comfort with both hands, good touch, reverse lays, the ability to play off two, and the aforementioned length. He will also contribute on the glass, looking to take the ball coast-to-coast if the lane is open. Preston racked up 16 points, 3 steals, and 1 block in the win over the Hurricanes.
