Michigan's 2027 class has a handful of talented prospects who have gained the interest of the national media. Thomas holds an offer from Michigan State, the University in the same city as his high school. This offer came after every Michigan MAC school had already offered Thomas. After winning a state title as a sophomore, Thomas and East Lansing fell in the title game this March. Thomas had an impressive season with The Family and was bumped up to the 17 U team for the PIT in July. Expect Thomas to get a lot of buzz this summer.

A prospect who was ranked in our initial 2027 rankings release back in the fall, both our Arizona lead scout and I thought there was no reason to back off our opinion of Prescott III being a nationally ranked level prospect. Prescott III won a state title alongside Darius Wabbington and Rider Portela. Despite his size, Prescott III is usually one of the most impactful players on whichever court he steps on and after receiving his last offer in July of 2025, I expect schools to come calling often in May through July this summer.

Another prospect who was ranked during our first 2027 national rankings release, Wingard has the physical tools to be a major stock riser this summer. Now playing for TN Impact, Wingard's transition ability should be a major boost to their 17 U team that found success at the 16 U level on the 3SSB circuit in July. Wingard was also spotlighted as a standout at the Dr Pepper Classic hosted at McCallie back in February. Tennessee's 2027 class is one of their best in recent memory and Wingard is one of the top prospects to watch from the state.

A bit of an under the radar prospect just starting to blow up, Webb was signed by Made Hoops as a NIL prospect for their circuit. Recently after that, Webb was offered by Louisville, a program who secured a commitment from Ferlandes Wright, another player who was only ranked on Prep Hoops at the time of commitment. Webb was also named WPIAL Section 5 2A player of the year after averaging 24 points, eight rebounds and over one block and steal per game. I'll be curious if the Louisville offer is the first of many high major offers, or mid major schools like James Madison (who were Webb's second offer) are the type of schools who prioritize Webb this summer.

I was a big fan of the Team Lillard 16 U back-court that Gray helped lead to the 3SSB title game in Rock Hill. This winter, Gray was named MCAL boys basketball player of the year for The Branson School. While some players have gone since last summer receiving a new offer, Gray was offered by Grand Canyon in October and Wyoming in January, showing that his high school performances have gotten college programs to prioritize him during their busy regular season. Those two schools joined programs like New Mexico, Loyola Marymount and San Jose State in the offer list for Gray, which has now eclipsed a dozen.

Condon was named to the All-MET team from the DC Coaches with a large majority of the players selected alongside him being seniors committed to high major programs. Condon had an excellent season for Sidwell Friends School, leading them to their fifth straight 20+ win season and fifth straight conference title. Ian put up impressive numbers on a nightly basis, scoring 19 points, grabbing eight rebounds and generating three and a half defensive stocks (steals + blocks) a contest while shooting 55/42/82 splits from the floor. Holding offers to schools like Villanova, Virginia Tech, UCF and most recently Cal, Condon has plenty of options going into his 17 U summer.
