Apple Valley 75 Wayzata 73. We all remember when Eagan shocked Park Center a few years ago out of Section 3AAA….. Today a 3AAA team performed another shocker only this time it was the Apple Valley Eagles. Apple Valley got down 16-3 early but battled back with a great defensive effort. They held Wayzata to 39.7 percent shooting including 4 of 22 at the arc and they had a hand in

Goodhue 70 Perham 49. Goodhue earned a one seed for a reason and they showed why immediately against the Yellowjackets…. Depth. Goodhue isn't just a deep team, they are a connected team across many sports, and in many cases, across families. They know their roles and they willingly play them to earn wins.

Albany 85 Jackson County Central 49. This had to have been one of the least expected blowouts of state tournament history. JCC came into state having beaten two top five teams in Morris Area and Montevideo, and they were on a roll. Albany really put together a great season but the pair of losses to Pequot Lakes and the brand new line-up (well, four new starters) made them hard to really know. And here came the defending champs shooting 59 percent for the game, and their defense was even better forcing 18 turnovers and 37 percent shooting.
