Andrews had himself quite a day as his team was on the brink of elimination, but his final bucket in the final seconds ended up being the biggest basket of the season. Ralston Valley found the hot hand on the day as he finished with 15 points, had some huge rebounds, and used his size. What stood out about Andrews when going through all of the top prospects on the day at the Coliseum was how elite an athlete he is. He's fluid, he's the right amount of aggressive, and he checks off all of the boxes. His play translates to wins almost as much as any player in the state, and this is his second sport. Against Rangeview, he'll need to elevate his game even more, as they do not allow that many opportunities. He's a player who proved himself at the Coliseum and is the player to watch in their Final 4 matchup. Excited for this one.

Howery is the marquee name of the tournament, and when you watch him play, it all makes sense. He plays with joy, he scores in bunches, and he cannot be contained. We saw it all season, but especially in their 20-point drubbing over Mountain Vista. Howery finished with 17 points, and that included some big-time momentum-changing dunks. He has great size, an excellent handle, and a killer mindset where he wants to dominate whoever is in front of him, and that's been the biggest change to his game that many aren't discussing. He's making up his mind to just take over. He created plenty of scoring opportunities by creating mismatches, and that got him either a bucket or to the FT line. Chaparral is in the Final 4 in a rematch against Rock Canyon, and the last game came down to the wire. He's a game away from the state championship, and that's so close that he can taste it. I expect another big performance from him.

Perez looked like the best player on the floor at the Coliseum, and he's been playing at a high level for the past month, which has led his team to an undefeated season in-state and a game away from getting back to the state championship. He finished with 18 points on the day and was one of the few players who silenced anyone who spoke about the difficulty of shotmaking at the Coliseum. He was lighting it up from deep, he got to his spots inside, and he's proven to be a big shot maker. He caps off every big run as the team's versatile weapon, and all eyes will be on him to keep pushing Rangeview through. Perez has made a leap in his senior year, and another big game should have more coaches knocking. Big opportunity for him where he should be able to continue this streak that he's on and keep the Raiders dancing.

[player_tooltip player_id='2478608' first='Davis' last='May'] is the one player who some can question if he belongs besides these other big names on this list at this stage, but that just means you haven't been watching lately. May might've had the biggest performance on the day at the Coliseum on Friday. He was relentless as a scorer who hit big shots, he stayed on the attack, and when Grandview tried to key in on him, he made the right reads. He's versatile and a player who takes what the defense gives him. He's a three-level scorer who plays with confidence, and they will need him to continue being a two-way force if they want to come out with the win. He had a game-high 20 points, he made plays on defense, and his stellar play can keep the season alive.

Consistency can be hard to find in Colorado high school hoops, but one thing you can almost always count on is [player_tooltip player_id='1722623' first='Christian' last='Williams'] going on a scoring run. When he gets rolling, there might not be another player in the state who can ignite a gym the way he does. It doesn't seem to matter if it's a packed league game or the Coliseum stage. Williams finished with 21 points, but the bigger thing that stood out was how locked in he looked on the defensive end. He was active, engaged, and just wouldn't be denied on either side of the floor. That type of complete performance is starting to feel like the norm for him now. A big reason Chaparral sits as the No. 1 team in the state is that they've got the best duo in Colorado, and those two clearly feed off each other's energy. Williams might not always be the loudest personality on the floor, but his game does the talking for him, and he shows up. With Chaparral being one win away from a state championship, expect him to empty the tank and do whatever it takes to keep their season rolling.
