Building a Midwest Powerhouse: Inside Indiana Elite
In this article:
For more than two decades, Indiana Elite has been a cornerstone of grassroots basketball in the Midwest. Led by Jordan Basye, the organization has built a reputation for producing high-level talent while staying committed to player development at every stage. Bayse steps in as the new CEO of Indiana Elite and is excited to take it to the next level.
In a recent conversation with Andy Hansen, Basye offered insight into what makes Indiana Elite one of the most respected programs on the circuit and why that success isn't slowing down anytime soon.
With multiple teams set to compete in Prep Hoops tournaments this season, Indiana Elite will once again be a key program to watch on the circuit, bringing talent and depth across multiple age groups.
A Statewide Program with National Reach
Based in Bloomington, Indiana, Indiana Elite recruits talent from across the state and the broader Midwest. The program spans all levels, from youth teams to elite high school prospects, creating a full pipeline of development.
At the top level, Indiana Elite competes on the Adidas 3SSB circuit, one of the premier platforms in grassroots basketball. The program's track record speaks for itself: hundreds of Division I players, multiple Indiana Mr. Basketball winners, and nearly 20 NBA alumni.
But for Basye, the identity of Indiana Elite goes beyond just producing stars.
“We try to hit every facet of youth basketball,” Basye explained. “From third grade all the way up, it's about development, competition, and helping kids get better every day.”
Development First, Always
While high-level talent is essential at the top tiers, Basye emphasized that mindset and competitiveness are what truly separate players in the program.
Indiana Elite looks for athletes who:
- Compete consistently
- Embrace growth
- Stay hungry regardless of their current level
In today's evolving basketball landscape, where players are competing against older, more experienced competition globally, Basye believes that edge is critical.
“You've got to have guys that aren't comfortable,” he said. “Guys who want to get better every day and aren't afraid of competition.”
2026 Season Outlook
Indiana Elite is once again set for a busy national schedule. Their top teams will travel across the country, with stops including Los Angeles, Texas, and the season-ending championships in Rock Hill.
In addition to their top Adidas 3SSB squads, the program fields teams on the Adidas Gold circuit and in competitive regional events, ensuring opportunities for players across all levels.
The goals for the season are simple but not easy:
- Win at a high level
- Continue developing players
- Strengthen the Indiana Elite brand nationally
“It's always about team success first,” Basye said. “Individual success comes within that.”
