Rankings drop this week, and it looks like we're rolling with the same top five from the last go-around—showing just how consistent this group has been. That said, there was a slight shake-up in the order. Now, we break down each player's season and the push they made to solidify their spot in the 2027 top five.

Howery was named the Colorado MaxPreps Player of the Year and was my pick for the Gatorade POY as well, with the season that he just had. When you put together wins, as well as individual production as well, it's hard to go elsewhere. The 6'5 PG averaged 19 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.1 assists a game while also recording just under 2 steals a game as well. He led Chaparral to the No.1 overall seed in the state, and despite the season not ending the way that they wanted, he was the most impactful player in the state. Howery is now explosive; he's dunking through the lane and stepping out and knocking down the 3-ball as well. The CSU commit doesn't have to stress this summer and just gets to play, and this is the only spoiler you'll get — he's still the No.1 player in this class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2048131' first='Jacob' last='David'] came into the season with a chip on his shoulder and had plenty to prove about where he belongs in the state rankings. He's a player who leaves it all on the floor; he plays with passion and fire and was able to lead Rock Canyon to a state championship. The 6'5 combo guard put on a show at the Coliseum and was named to the 1st Team All-State after putting up 18.3 points and 4.3 rebounds a game. When the stakes are the highest, he's stepped up to the plate and is an intriguing prospect with such a high ceiling that we're curious to see what it looks like this summer and beyond. He remains in the Top-5, maybe as a riser.

Williams is the leading scorer out of this bunch, and he's truly one of the special scorers in the state who you can pencil in for at least 20 points, no matter the situation, opponent, or scenario. He's who every single team has to game plan for, they try and keep the ball out o this hands, and he still finds a way. Even with so many different looks, he was still able to average 19.7 points a game and was even more efficient this year from deep, which opened up the floor a bit more. Williams is a three-level scorer who the game slows down for; he's a gamer and one of/if not the state's best player. Another big year for him and a huge summer ahead for this All-State player.

Wanrow is a player who is full of promise, and this was his first varsity season after having to sit out last year due to CHSAA rules, and he made the most of it. Wanrow led Brighton to one of their best overall seasons in school history as they won their conference with an undefeated record, and the 6'8 wing was phenomenal on the season. Wanrow averaged 19.2 points and 11.4 rebounds a game. He had 16 double-doubles on the season, recorded a triple-double, and showed that he's a versatile player who impacts winning. I enjoy watching how Wanrow can fill it up in ways beyond scoring. He's a two-way standout with good size, he reads the floor and makes the right play, and put up a season where he showed why he's a top 5 player in the class.

Archie is a winner. The last couple of years, he's been able to help lead his team to a deep playoff push as one of the most entertaining teams in the state, and this year, he elevated his game as the leading scorer and go-to guy. Archie filled it up as he put up 19.2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. He played more as the lead guard, and that presented him as a scorer who made plays for teammates, finding the open man, and taking over at times. He set the tone for the season as he started the season on a tear offensively and then showcased the ability to manipulate the game. He gets to his spots, he attacks and knocks down the 3-ball. He's an explosives 3-level scorer who is now daring opposing players to jump. He rounds out the Top-5
