Ashford had an excellent game controlling the pace for George Rogers Clark, pushing the tempo when necessary but also helping George Rogers Clark chew clock at the end of quarters and late in the game when they held a double-digit advantage. Ashford also stole multiple inbounds passes, leading to one open layup and he was fouled on another. One of the top floor generals in Kentucky, Ashford is the straw that stirs the drink for George Rogers Clark.

The top prospect on George Rogers Clark, Gay made a big impact on both ends of the floor, scoring off cuts, converting a four point play and blocking a couple of shots. George Rogers Clark runs great actions to get Gay easy looks as he scored off a nice off ball screen look to the rim and a couple backdoor cuts. If George Rogers Clark is going to leave Rupp with the ultimate hardware, they'll need Gay and play at a high level.

A sophomore who plays with the physicality and strength of a much older player, Akins goes hits you before you can hit him on the offensive end of the court. An impressive athlete, Akins had some above the rim layups and excels at finishing with his right hand. Akins had a strong finish with his left hand on a drive. In the second quarter Akins hit back-to-back 3-pointers including a heat check pull-up from the top of the key. Very impressive performance from Akins who rose to the occasion in front of a packed gym.

A prospect who has made a big rise this season, Johnson has the quick twitch athleticism to get by the first defender off the dribble, move his feet defensively and thrive in transition. Johnson had multiple drop off assists where he drove middle down the lane and fed one of his teammates on the block for an easy layup. Johnson started the game with a sweet reverse layup off a nice offensive set, showing his ability to play within a system. A winning player, Johnson is the type of guy coaches are looking for at the wing guard position.

Despite the loss, Jarvis was extremely impressive in the first half and the season why Montgomery County was able to hang around for as long as they did on Tuesday night. Jarvis caught the ball on the wing did a quick rip and go move and had a nasty dunk in traffic to get the strong Montgomery County support up off their feet. Jarvis followed that up with back-to-back 3-pointers to give his team some momentum late in the first half. Maybe the highlight of the game came when Jarvis dropped a defender on a crossover before hitting a mid-range pull-up jumper. Lots of momentum for Jarvis heading into his 17 U grassroots season.

After struggling in the first half, Gentry made a bunch of shots and plays in the second half to make this game interesting for almost the full 32 minutes. Gentry is a confident shooter off the catch and also scored a couple times in the paint where the ball found him near the rim. While Montgomery County had an up and down season, they started to hit their stride towards the end of the year and veteran leaders like Gentry were big reasons why.
