<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Paul VI Dominates DeMatha, 67-50</h1>   Due to inclement weather, teams have been forced to play games on consecutive days as a result of multiple rescheduling. Despite these challenges, the stage was set on February 3rd for a pivotal WCAC matchup.   Paul VI Catholic, entering the game with an impressive 20-2 overall record and an undefeated 7-0 in league play, traveled to face DeMatha, who stood at 16-5 overall and 6-1 in league competition. With both teams at the top of the conference standings, this contest would determine first place in the WCAC.    The newly appointed McDonald's All-American player started the game off getting his teammates involved in the flow of the game in the 1st quarter. Matthew continues to be a matchup nightmare for opposing big men who must come out and contest the Mattew's ability to face and stick the 3 consistently. And the beginning of this game was the same beginning. He benefitted from Jordan Smith timely passing and opposing big man lives him all alone and he calmy knocked the first points of the game with a 20-foot jumper. Matthew might not be most athletic prospect. But he understands how to play with position and strength. Mena finish the game with 10 points.     The conductor of the Paul VI firepower is the Florida Gulf Coast signee. He just knows what buttons to push when he is out on the floor setting table for his teammates. He knocks the 3's, gets into the paint and makes plays for himself or his teammates. Turk continues to be the glue that makes the timely plays on both ends of the floor. The Stags' top scorer possesses a combination of quick explosiveness, the ability to shoot the ball, and a solid overall skill set.
