Connor has really emerged in NC's 2027 class as a dynamic physical presence in the Forsyth Country Day front-court. Connor and his team are hosting Charlotte Latin tonight at 6:30 for a berth in the State Championship game. Connor has the ability to attack with his back to the basket or facing up, making him a true mismatch in the front-court. Connor is a strong kid, he embraces contact and has the edge over his matchup in that department far more often than not. Connor is a consistent presence on both backboards and possesses the foundational skill level to be a threat as a jump-shooter and make great plays for his teammates when doubled. Connor's decision to reclassify to 2027 and transfer to Forsyth Country Day has paid major dividends as he will find himself ranked highly when 2027 drops soon. Connor is a classic high floor forward to monitor closely into the spring/summer, adding some hardware at Forsyth Country Day this week will be a great launching pad for that.

We've written about Haynes previously and he has simply maintained + elevated his level of production combined with his ability to impact winning as Providence Day is two wins away from a State Championship. Haynes is such a strong presence on the inside offensively, using his size and instincts to finish around the rim with efficiency along with providing a ton of work on the offensive glass. Haynes has such a willingness to do whatever is asked of him to get the job done due to his natural competitiveness. Haynes brings so much effort each and every night and is just an asset to any roster he's on. Providence Day will be hosting Carmel Christian in a cross-town matchup that should provide a lot of excitement in the 704. Haynes will be looking to hold his own in the paint and beyond as he can add to his legacy at Providence Day with more big performances on this playoff run.

Johnson has the kind of skill and game to give his team a chance vs anybody they face as he can fill it up with the best of them. The UNC Asheville commit had a broken hand in the summer that limited his production but has recovered and been getting bucket after bucket for Carmel Christian this season. After a dominant win over Cannon in the quarter-finals, Carmel is heading across the city to Providence Day in the final four matchup. Johnson knows that he's going to have to produce for this team to get the job done and he'll be ready. His volume has been high all season with the make up of this roster and Johnson possesses the ability to flat out take a game over with his shot making ability. Johnson will have to balance trusting his teammates and knowing when to call his own number as he heads into the final four as the #3 seed. If he can manufacture the kind of performance(s) he's capable of, Carmel Christian can absolutely win a couple of games this week.

Chaney is continuing to establish himself as one of the state's best freshman and best guard prospects regardless of class. With his Charlotte Latin team making a final four berth in the NCISAA 4A classification, Chaney is poised to bring an upset minded group into Forsyth Country Day later tonight and empty the tank. The Frosh is averaging 19.3 Points, 3.7 Rebounds, 3.1 Assists, and 1.3 Steals on 46/41/76 splits. There's no way around it, that is just remarkably impressive for a kid of this age to do. Chaney's ability to both run the team, activate his own offense when needed, and bring enough to the table defensively to make a positive impact at that end of the floor. The combination of poise, skill, and competitive fire make Chaney a point guard prospect worth monitoring very closely. If he can find a way to shock the HoopState and win two games this week, it will be something truly special.

Adams is the kind of kid that helps you win big games with his ability to impact winning by embracing the little things on the floor. Adams does as good a job as anyone in the State of North Carolina at taking charges bringing a ton of value as he swings possessions with that multiple times a game. Adams is a great connector at both ends of the floor and does a great job bridging the gap between the rest of the roster and the coaching staff. Adams can get hot from the outside with his jumper along with being a more than capable secondary creator alongside Q Williams for this Forsyth Country Day team that is loaded with next level talent. Adams might get overlooked for his size, but his impact on big games vs high level competition is undeniable and he'll start to earn more recognition for it from all around the state.

Battier is a new name in North Carolina's 2027 class and he possesses a lot of high quality traits you love to see from the mismatch forward type that he is. Battier is a true multi-positional defender with the ability to heat up from the outside, two vital abilities that next level coaches are all about. Battier is a kid that has gotten better as the season has gone along and is at his best when engaged on the glass. On top of his defensive prowess + outside touch, Battier has great body control when attacking the basket, runs the floor with consistency, and is a truly consistent above the rim finisher when presented the chance. Battier is simply a kid that is stacking good day after good day right now as he's leading his team on a deep playoff run after finishing the season really strong. Those are the kind of kids that take major leaps in their 17u summer, add in the NBA pedigree in the bloodlines... watch this one very very closely.
