Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Battier does a really nice job for this A Wigg team as he possesses a truly versatile inside/out skillset with his positional size. Battier can make outside shots, push the ball in transition, and is starting to show more aggression as a slasher with this group, showcasing his above the rim capability. Battier is coming off of a really strong season at Providence Day where he played a major role on a team that enjoyed a lot of success. The lefty is a high level shot maker off the catch with the ability to attack closeouts and finish at the rim. He’s got a slick handle with a head of steam, making him difficult to contain in transition when he gets it going. Battier should be one of the most consistent producers on this A Wigg 17u team all season long and start to garner Division One traction in the process.

Battier is looking to show off his ever-improving game with A Wigg Elite UAA 17u this spring/summer. Battier’s ability to make shots at his size along with his improving off the dribble game will bode well for his stock as he ascends into this important and pivotal summer. Battier helped get his team off to a strong start at both the On The Radar Opening and Phenom Rise Showcase this past weekend. Battier’s got a very smooth game that will translate well to the eyes of college coaches due to the fact that he always stays within himself. He had a really successful season and introduction to the HoopState at Providence Day this past season and will look to carry that success into the travel ball season. With his skill, measurables, and approach to the game, Battier should line himself up to get considerable division one attention over the next few months.

Battier is a new name in North Carolina’s 2027 class and he possesses a lot of high quality traits you love to see from the mismatch forward type that he is. Battier is a true multi-positional defender with the ability to heat up from the outside, two vital abilities that next level coaches are all about. Battier is a kid that has gotten better as the season has gone along and is at his best when engaged on the glass. On top of his defensive prowess + outside touch, Battier has great body control when attacking the basket, runs the floor with consistency, and is a truly consistent above the rim finisher when presented the chance. Battier is simply a kid that is stacking good day after good day right now as he’s leading his team on a deep playoff run after finishing the season really strong. Those are the kind of kids that take major leaps in their 17u summer, add in the NBA pedigree in the bloodlines… watch this one very very closely.

Blessed with positional size and a solid all around skill set the 27′ combo forward is one to track in NC class. He checks boxes as a defender, using his long wing span to contest shots on the perimeter and move his feet well with wing and guard matchups. Offensively the lefty swing is more of a jump shooter than a slasher at this moment but looks like he isn’t done developing on that end of the floor.
