We've reached the mid-way point of league play and a number of seniors have established themselves as firm nominees for the roster of their leagues. The 5A All-Star squad made their debut last year with the Best of the Best expanded to eight teams and like many of the new teams that joined, they are looking to break through with their first opening round win. Here are some of the seniors have stood out as top nominees for this year's roster.

Analysis: Given the fact 5A is as strong as it's ever been in 2025-26, it's no surprise the amount of available seniors to choose from for the Best of the Best is deep - in fact, some of the ones from the Southern part of the state may end up on the Southwest squad. Nevertheless, assuming everyone will be eligible for this team and available to play, a squad could be assembled to challenge any of the 6A squads. Lowenbach is arguably the best big man in the state, Labounty one of the top all-around scorers, and point guards Montague and Lawson are two of the top overall players in the Portland Metro area regardless of class.
