Gutches was one of my favorite watches of the day. He did a bit of everything. He scored in transition, handled the ball in the half court, and hit shots from the perimeter. His isolation game was sharp, as he changed pace, created space, and either scored or made the right pass. Add in his hustle and offensive versatility, and it’s clear Gutches is a scorer to watch. It was great to see him playing in Colorado for the weekend as he turned some heads.

He was an aggressive defender on the perimeter, moving his feet and hands well and sitting on fakes. Was another guy making good reads off the ball to cut to space and give ballhandlers good options when the defense collapsed inside.

Gutches looks to pressure the rim, certainly an assertive scoring option out of ball screens or while attacking closeouts. Capable of making quick reads out of the pick and roll with either hand, the guard continues to create easy opportunities for teammates, particularly with Liberty this June. His capabilities as a perimeter shooter will play a large role in opening up the rest of his offensive game, although he brings plenty of intrigue.
