Dayton has arrived! The 6'4 guard is the focal point for opposing teams as every team is trying to figure out how to slow him down. They've given him double teams and different looks, and it simply hasn't worked. He gets the boards and goes; he is dissecting defenses with isolation baskets, and he's reading screens and taking what he likes. He gets to his spots and finishes, and occasionally steps out and knocks down the 3-ball. He's a steady bucke,t and that's been on display. He's averaging 22.4 points a game and is just over 100 points away from 1,000 points scored. That will likely happen in a couple of games as he has his team looking for a deep playoff push. Solid year for the junior, and we hope to see more of him this summer and at showcases.

Montezuma-Cortez has been having a glow-up season, and others have taken notice. One of those players who has been part of their big change is junior athletic combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='2391125' first='Trey' last='Hall']. Hall has been a consistent source of scoring for the past few seasons and is putting together his best season yet. He's up to 20.4 points a game, he's put up double figures in every single game this season, and that's a big reason that they're undefeated on the year. He's getting out in transition, staying aggressive throughout the game, and pushing the pace. He will hit the 1,000 mark in the next two weeks and will be in elite company for his school.

David is well on his way to passing the 1,000 points mark in a few games, and I hope that it is at home so that those Canyon Crazies can have a moment with their leading scorer. He had a breakout sophomore season and is putting up around the same number; the only thing is, now they're leading to wins. He's found a way to lead the team in not only scoring at 18.1 points a game, but he's also their vocal leader, and his play is contagious. He plays the right way, is aggressive, but lets the game come to him, and is a 3-level scorer. He's found ways to use his length to his advantage on iso finishes, he's starting to hunt mismatches and make defenses pay, and still has those athletic finishes that bring energy to his squad. I expect him to break the 1,000 point mark in the middle of league play, but after that, his sights are on something bigger.

When you are talking potential, then look no further. A 6'6, long, athletic, and wiry CG that can play multiple positions makes you wonder what his ceiling looks like. Then look at his seasons. He's averaged double digits in every single season and was a Day 1 starter. He has evolved from a pass-first combo guard to a balanced scorer who checks off boxes. He's getting out in transition and pushing the pace, finishing through contact and reading where double teams are coming from. He's also seeming to have the game come a bit easier for him, and that's how he's been able to keep putting these numbers. He's going to hit the 1,000 points scored mark in the next couple of weeks. The team is also starting to build some chemistry and put it together, and he's leading the way. He's at 15.3 points a game and scoring in the ways he always has. Now it's about turning those into wins and making a push at a state championship!

If you've seen Northfield play the last few seasons, then you've seen 6'5 forward [player_tooltip player_id='1622346' first='Judah' last='Michael'] put together some big games. He has excellent footwork, soft touch around the rim, and he's an offensive nightmare for anybody guarding him. He's coming up on 1,000 points scored, and that's only in 3 seasons. He's added the 3-ball to his game, a dangerous face game, and counter moves to continue to strike. He's up to 23.3 points a game and is who everything goes through. The team goes as he goes, and this is an incredible accomplishment that not many have done with Northfield being a newer school. He'll go into the history books.
