Dion was a blur on the fastbreak in a high-level PG County school matchup. Got virtually wherever he wanted on the floor and made the defense look a bit helpless at times. Dion used his size and speed to shoot by the defenders in both the open court and the halfcourt. If the defense did not stop him on the drive he took the ball all the way to the cup and finished the play strong. Shot decent from range but didn't have to settle for many jumpers. Dion was also a key rebounder for the Pumas and collected many critical rebounds to finish off possessions. Overall, Dion efficiently willed his team to a big victory over a rival opponent and did not shy away from the moment.

Malik may have been the player of the day at the HoopBuzz Invitational. He was the do-it-all star of the event, flying all around the floor finishing tough layups, stealing the rock and igniting fastbreaks, or sealing off the defensive possession with a strong board through traffic. I liked the way the Malik mixed the scoring with the playmaking ability. The way he dashed through the lane and hit his open targets at he perfect times was essential to Lackey blowing open their lead and finishing their rival off. Malik was just too strong and too fast for the defenders to throw him off his drives to the cup. Malik showed true poise and leadership this game, not getting caught up in the emotions of the crowd or on the floor and let his game do the talking. Dominant showing from the underrated Charles County star.

Isaiah was the most consistent offensive force for Clinton Grace through the game. He was the recipient of some big time alley-oops that helped carry momentum enough for the big win at the invite. Knocked down some perimeter shots from spotting up and from creating space enough to score. Had some wiggle to his handle that I have not seen much of, showed he's got some smooth wing abilities from an offensive standpoint. Isaiah made a couple turnaway baskets after getting by his matchup or pivoting his way to space in the midrange. Was nice to see him play such a big role in winning the game against a tough opponent.

Travis was electric in their big rivalry win at the HoopBuzz on Saturday. He was attacking the basket with an intensity that willed him through the defenders time and time again. Travis was a problem to match up with all night, with his speed and strength combined, it was tough to contain him from getting two feet in the paint. He showed consistency knocking down shots from long range as well, making it tough to leave him too much space. Provided the energy all game and his team needed his juice to overpower a stout opponent. A performance to remember from Travis Suggs in a big game for Lackey's season.

Abdul was a bright spot in a tough game for Gwynn Park. He and his team showed some heart and grit that I was glad to see in a rugged environment. Got to the middle of the zone and broke the defense multiple times through the game. Was a tough cover for the opponent because of how well he utilized his size advantage and got to the spots he wanted. Dully got to the basket and was fouled all through the game, putting up a high amount of free throws all night.
