Governors Challenge: '26 Premier Performers

Malik had a really special first half for Tech Prep in their championship game at the Gov Challenge. Showed there was nothing he couldn't do offensively, whether it be scoring the ball in different ways or setting up his teammates off the dribble. Completely dominated on the floor with the combination of a smooth jumper mixed between flurries of isolation baskets scoring in one to two moves. Gave the opponent massive problems with his versatility and ability to impact everything happening on the floor.     Josh's impact on the game was overwhelming for any defense in his way in Salisbury. Finished his second game out with 20+ points and a few highlight dunks. After imposing his will in the painted area, Josh showed comfort in his ability to stretch out and make plays beyond the arc. Had some athletic blocks on the other end of the floor that summed up his effect on their big win at the Gov.     Marcus left each game with north of 20 points, just torching the opposition by way of the 3. Any inch of space given to Marcus resulted in a buried three-point shot. While cashing in on shots offensively, Marcus contributed greatly to the defensive side of the ball. Showed up to play and executed well in both games at the Gov Challenge. Big part in SSASA's championship run and was lethal throughout.     [player_tooltip player_id='1406771' first='Dillon' last='Gamble'] had a weekend to remember at the Governors Challenge this season. He and the Fords came out firing in their first matchup, easily winning after gaining composure. Dillon remained a constant contributor to the team through each run during the game. Remained calm and seeked out some critical baskets at the rim with efficiency in both his games. Really liked the way he kept his head on a swivel and found his teammates when they had space to make a play. Generated a lot of offense for the team and was the catalyst behind many runs. Almost led the team to a bracket championship at the Gov in a highly-contested controversial finish.     Ean showed again why his stock has continued to rise during this major senior campaign. Finished off a championship run at the Gov with a team-high 18 points along with 5 steals/assists/rebounds each. Had a complete showing, stepping up big in a 4th quarter/OT comeback victory. Ean was all over the floor defensively, but really showed he can lock-in and take a high-volume scorer out of rhythm while still positively contributing efficiently on the offensive end. One of Ean's better performances of the season.     Manny had a solid weekend at the Gov and enjoyed an especially impressive game 1 in bracket play. He got whatever he wanted near the rim whether creating for himself inside or getting into good position for an easy catch-and-finish. Seemed to dominate his matchup and that carried the team through and up-and-down first game out. Finished well in an intense championship game but fouled out late, which the team could feel towards the final seconds.
