This past week has been full of tournament action across the state. We saw several players put together strings of very impressive play. Today, we will look at the “best of the best” and what made their performances rise to the top.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552351' first='Drew' last='Reynolds'] | Mustang

The senior performed well at the Arvest Bank Invitational in Bartlesville, complimenting [player_tooltip player_id='2712639' first='Garrett' last='Smith'] (Tournament MVP) and [player_tooltip player_id='2464132' first='Scyon' last='Wilborn'] for the Mustangs. Reynolds was selected to the All-Tournament Team and helped lead his team to the tournament title. Reynolds showed tremendous anticipation defensively throughout the tournament, producing multiple steals in each game. His court vision continue to be another bright spot as he knows when to push the ball ahead to find teammates in transition. Offensively, he shot well from beyond the arc, specifically in catch-and-shoot situations. He has unlimited range and provided a big-time lift against Owasso with some deep 3-pointers. Not only did these give his team momentum, but also sparked changes in the defense to open up the paint for teammates. Reynolds also continues to improve as a cutter and driver, with an ability to finish with both hands around the rim. Look for his shooting to continue to open up things for others as Mustang looks to make a deep postseason run this semester.

[player_tooltip player_id='3138018' first='Jeremiah' last='Millhouse'] | Piedmont

The freshman made the Enid All-Tournament Team and helped his squad to an overall record of 4-0 last week. Millhouse complimented [player_tooltip player_id='1552326' first='Hudson' last='Hite'] well over the four-game stretch, averaging 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.0 steals per game, while shooting 44% from the field and 33% from 3-point range. As Millhouse continues to gain confidence, look for the Wildcats to design more offensive sets with him in mind. He will be an x-factor moving forward for this squad as defenders key in on Hite consistently. If the freshman can continue to shoot effectively from beyond the arc, the Wildcats will be a tough team to deal with on the offensive end.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552314' first='Cash' last='Laird'] | Kingfisher

Laird helped to lead Kingfisher to the title game of the Wheat Capital Tournament in Enid. He saved his best performance of the tournament for the championship game against Heritage Hall. The senior scored a team-high 29 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Laird provided very good defense throughout the tournament as well. Not only did he force turnovers, but his length and versatility on that side of the floor bothered opponents in half court sets. He was key in the one-point semifinal win over Chisholm as well, helping to produce scoring runs to help change the game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2408566' first='Carter' last='Coleman'] | Oklahoma Christian Academy

This was his first tournament opportunity due to injury. Not only did he win MVP of the Mike Kerr Tournament, but his Eagles also went home with the tournament title. Coleman averages 21 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks across the three games. His perimeter shooting looked smooth to go along with great activity on the defensive end. Look for him to continue to gain more confidence and athleticism as he continues to work back into shape. His ability to guard multiple spots while also protecting the paint makes an incredible impact on his team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2677148' first='Bill' last='Stephens'] | Wewoka

The Konawa Tournament provided Wewoka with some quality competition. Playing multiple schools with higher classifications and solid records will undoubtedly help the Tigers as they progress through the season. Stephens played well in these matchups and has really been stuffing the stat sheet lately. The sophomore guard has a tight handle and operates well going to his left. His ability to get in the paint and score by getting to the rim or pulling up in front of the defense has picked up this season. Lately, his assists have continued to skyrocket as well. Look for Stephens to build off his latest performance and continue to make quality decisions with the ball in his hands. In the tournament title game against Bying (4A), he provided 22 points with 5 assists and 4 steals to show his growing all-around game.

Jarmile "Money" Robinson | Edmond Santa Fe

The senior helped propel the Wolves to the 66th Annual McGuinness Classic, defeating Crossings Christian, 66-58 on Saturday. Robinson was a relentless finisher at the rim throughout the tournament and played very physical on both ends of the floor. He loves operating with the ball in his hands and was trusted down the stretch of the game against Crossings to control the ball and hit foul shots. Not only did he step up at the foul line, but he also provided some key assists to teammates [player_tooltip player_id='2381835' first='TJ' last='Newton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2724400' first='Joseph' last='Baba']. Robinson was named Tournament MVP.
