Expert Analysis
Sam Duren | Prep Hoops Scout
A high flying player, who has been among the most improved players in Oklahoma this calendar year. Fits like a glove for the new style at Santa Fe. Routinely got up and applied full court ball pressure. Made life very difficult for opposing guards. Including one instance where he ripped the opposition and then slammed it home, sparking a big Santa Fe run.
Baba’s defensive effort and overall athleticism is a major spark to the swagger and tempo the Wolves play with. Gets on the offensive glass as well as being a dynamic slasher. With his athletic ability being fully unlocked this year, he should be a top priority for developmental minded regional D2 and NAIA programs. Or JuCos that he could use as a platform to continue to elevate his game.

The big spring and summer continued with the Santa Fe refining his guard skills. Baba looks stronger and more confident with his handles. Leading to not only being a transition monster like the past. But a halftime court one as well at the RUN Showcase. He carved up the defense with an improved crossover. Looked physically stronger as well.
Late blooming prospect for the Wolves, set for a huge senior season. And should be a JuCo-D2 priority for Oklahoma and regional programs.

Baba seems like he might a sleeping monster when it comes to Oklahoma prospects. There were good signs this high school season of him being a quality scorer from 15 feet and in. He has a quality mid-range game and a great first step to attack from those scenarios. But this spring, has seen moments of him really unleashing high flying capabilities. He thrived in the up and down nature of AAU basketball, skying for explosive slams and making highlight reel plays. The sky is the limit and with a new era of Santa Fe basktball, Baba could be set to take off.

High flying Baba took over a Saturday afternoon contest. He ran the floor hard in transition to hunt for dunks and alley oops. While also exploding by defenders in the halfcourt for explosive and graceful takes. In the up and down nature of AAU basketball, there’s even more avenues for Baba to show off and change games with his elite athleticism. They key is getting his motor running and revved up. As before a dunk seemed to wake up Baba, he had a couple almost finishes that turned into misses. But after the dunk, he seemed to play with a new bounce in his step. Literally. Promising overall signs for Baba to emerge as one of the more undervalued prospects in a deep Oklahoma Class of 2026.

Intriguing slasher for the Wolves. Good athleticism, with elevation to finish high and nimble movements for his height. Currently seems to be at his best in transition, where his speed and burst allows him to get down the court in the hurry. In the halfcourt has been a “15 and foot” in type player. Capable of slashing up the defense from the high post with a mid-range game or exploding to finish at the rim. Strong junior season, and hopefully can continue to find an extra gear next year that could sneakily turn him into one of the better scorers in Oklahoma.

Slashing wing, with good quickness and leaping ability for his size. Had double doubles vs McGuinness and Del City. Was effective as a 15 and foot in player. Best when put in situations where he could attack quickly, which his first step and overall athleticism makes him dangerous. Can also stop and hit in the 8-12 foot range when attacking. Drew a lot of fouls when driving, and the next step will be playing and finishing stronger to turn them into three point play opportunities. The light appears to be coming on for an intriguing prospect, who could be a go to scoring option for the Wolves down the stretch.
