9AAAA Apple Valley at 4AAAA Hopkins

Prediction: CORRECT (but not really). I picked the game winner correct but it was a 73-71 game and not the 14 point game I thought it would be. [player_tooltip player_id='1560866' first='Camare'' last='Young'] had 31 points, nine rebounds and six assists as the Eagles nearly pulled off the upset on the road. [player_tooltip player_id='1550877' first='Jayden' last='Moore'] returned to the court with 28 points, ten assists, four rebounds and four steals to make sure the Royals did earn the win.

4A Red Lake County at 10AA East Grand Forks

Prediction: WEATHER POSTPONED

10AAA St. Peter at Waseca

Prediction: CORRECT. I said St. Peter wins by eight, they won 88-58 in a blowout. No numbers online to read about but a nice St. Peter win after they entered the top ten.

Blake at 4AA Holy Family

Prediction: CORRECT. I said the Fire by eleven, they won 82-80. [player_tooltip player_id='2118459' first='Carson' last='McMichael'] had 33 for the Bears while [player_tooltip player_id='1560786' first='Lexyn' last='Grof'] scored 24 to lead the winners. The Fire had four guys in double figures with John Mackey, [player_tooltip player_id='2140577' first='Carson' last='Kuchenbecker'] and Drew Coleman all doing their part up front.

5AA Belle Plaine at Southwest Christian

Prediction: WEATHER POSTPONED. I find it weird that some games were postponed while others just a few miles away were played. Very odd. And it's not like some of the opponents were coming from long distances. Always something that perplexes me.

I Saw It On Twitter!

[player_tooltip player_id='1560882' first='Cedric' last='Tomes'] scored 32 points for East Ridge in a 63-53 win over Irondale. Yes that 32 points is more than half that his team scored overall.

[player_tooltip player_id='2137323' first='Carter' last='Pulrang'] scored 27 points against the 26 from [player_tooltip player_id='2126458' first='Luke' last='Schroeder'] in a shooting duel. Eden Prairie (Pulrang) have their top scorer more help as [player_tooltip player_id='1560851' first='Hamze' last='Yusuf'] had 19 and [player_tooltip player_id='2119596' first='Cooper' last='Fahning'] had 18. The Eagles..... keep an eye on them!

Monster game from [player_tooltip player_id='2382253' first='Colton' last='Miller'] who had 25 points and 14 rebounds leading Andover to a win over Anoka in a mild upset of section/league teams.

[player_tooltip player_id='2126118' first='Tyler' last='Forrest'] scored 28 points on 10 of 18 shooting (8 of 10 foul shooting) with nine rebounds and five assists in a 20 point win over Champlin Park. [player_tooltip player_id='1560760' first='Kyler' last='Pust'] stayed hot with 30 points in the loss.

Upset of the Night

So many upsets to talk about!

Wabasso knocked off Springfield 81-74. Springfield started the season in the top ten and they already have two losses. [player_tooltip player_id='2840972' first='Brayden' last='Guetter'] had 25 points, five boards and four blocks as the 6'5 senior forward led his team to the win.

Waconia went on the road and knocked off top ten Prior Lake 77-71. [player_tooltip player_id='1560741' first='Will' last='Kirsch'] scored 20 and [player_tooltip player_id='2447537' first='Jaxen' last='Holmlund'] scored 16 as the Cats picked up a huge win while the Lakers continue to be a confusing team.

Jackson County Central was going to have an early slip. This team just got done with a football state championship run that had pressure and so many highs. That is why we didn't believe they should be number one to start the season (while many others put them number one after copying the rest of the Breakdown/Prep Hoops rankings) and Luverne beat them 75-61 last night. Luverne started the game with a 17-0 run.
