I'm a big fan of this La Salle team after a statement win to open their season and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2721843' first='Cj' last='Davis'] is a prime candidate to breakout in the Cincinnati area this year. Davis is an elite defender with a long wingspan and quick feet. Davis also took a charge and provided tough help-side defense when players tried attacking off the dribble. Improving as a ball handler, Davis was getting to his spots and making plays as a finisher and distributor. Hoping to see Davis continue to improve as an outside shooter, Davis form is solid and he had the confidence to let a couple open ones fly from the corner. Lot of long-term upside with Davis who is taking the step to becoming an impactful high school player.

Hilliard Bradley has a deliberate system with two future Division I guards leading the way, allowing their role guys to specialize in what the team asks them to do and Mojica is a perfect example of a guard who just has to knock down open shots, play tough on-ball defense and be in the right places as a helpside defender. Mojica checked all those boxes on Saturday in the first game of his junior season. If that game is any indication, Mojica should play a crucial role for the Jags this winter.

CHCA plays such a good brand of basketball that without the reigning conference player of the year due to injury, they were tied with a minute to play against a good Cardinal Ritter squad. Michel had a scoop layup, a euro-step layup and played under control with the ball in his hands. In the second half Michel knocked down two key 3-pointers. Overall, I just really enjoyed watching a less talented CHCA team without their best player scrap and fight for 32 minutes and play unselfish basketball to let whoever was open take the shot. That can be hard to find in 2025 and needs to be appreciated.

Brebeuf Jesuit pushed one of the best teams from Cincinnati to overtime and their collection of guard talent was a key reason why they had so much success crossing state lines. Ford knocked down multiple 3-pointers early in the game and had a sweet spin move to get an open layup. I also was impressed by Ford's ability to play on and off the ball, finding success on DHO's and attacking closeouts. Impressive guard who should be on small college radars around Indiana.

One of the most improved players in the state, the light has turned on for Billingsley and he is set to dominate during his senior season. With excellent feet for a prospect his size, Billingsley has impressive end to end speed and can change directions while moving off the ball to get free from the defense. The work Billingsley has done to improve his body is a key reason why he's made such a significant jump and is due for a rankings bump during our next update.

Kettering Fairmont pushed the host Mason Comets to overtime before falling short. McGraw had an excellent game going 7/10 from the floor finishing with 14 points and 15 rebounds. The Comets had a tough time handling McGraw in the paint as he drew fouls at the rim and grabbed a pair of offensive rebounds. In overtime, McGraw had a couple key buckets off a BLOB play and a seal and score. Hoping to see McGraw improve from the foul line throughout the course of the season.
