Prep Hoops Indiana is back on the road for the second week of the high school basketball season. Our travels started on Monday for a game that been rescheduled from opening night due to Bloomington South playing in the football state championship game. We braved some pretty tough weather conditions to make our way down to Bloomington for this marquee early season matchup. Indiana University assistant coaches Drew Adams and Kenny Johnson were in attendance for this matchup as well. Let's take a look at eight of the standout prospects from New Albany's 75-57 win over the Panthers.

Clark averaged 12.3 points per game as a junior and had a good spring and summer on the grassroots circuit. He is a name that comes up in conversations regularly with small college coaches. However, Monday night was as good as we have seen him play. The 6'0" senior guard poured in 27 points while going against a very quick and athletic New Albany backcourt. He did most of his work off of the dribble getting to the basket consistently, but also knocked down three three-point shots and a couple of pull-up jumpers. Clark's strength and ability to create separation off of the bounce really stood out in this contest despite the loss.

Also the quarterback for the Panthers football team, Combs is a good prospect on the hardwood as well. The 6'5" forward has a strong build and excellent footwork around the basket. He operates in the mid-post, can face-up out to the perimeter and drive it against closeouts, and rebounds at a high level. Combs finished just shy of a double-double with 11 points and 9 rebounds. It will be interesting to see how his basketball recruitment shapes up compared to the opportunities he wil have as a football prospect.

New Albany has a couple of stars that garner a lot of attention, but this 5'11" junior point guard is an incredibly important piece to their puzzle. McKee started for the Bulldogs and made an impact on both ends of the floor throughout the game. His ability to handle the ball and facilitate takes a great deal of pressure off of Washington and Stoudemire. Additionally, the on-ball pressure that he provides defensively really wears down the opposing backcourt. McKee finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals in the Bulldogs' 75-57 win.

There is no doubt that Stoudemire is one of Indiana's top freshman prospects. There is nothing about his build, or h is game, that makes you think he is a freshman. He is built like a college running and plays with similar strength and explosiveness. Already, Stoudemire is one of the state's best rebounding guards. He is really hard to keep from getting into the paint and is equally as good at keeping ball handlers from reaching the paint when he is defending. Stoudemire finished with 15 points and 9 rebounds for New Albany on Monday night against Bloomington South.

Washington proved why he is considered a four-star Top 75 prospect in the Class of 2028. He was also the reason why two Indiana University assistant coaches were sitting courtside. the 6'5" guard put on a show starting in the second quarter where he rattled off jump shot after jump shot scoring 13 of his 15 first half points. Washington went on to score 28 points to lead all scorers in New Albany's 75-57 victory. There simply isn't much you can do defensively when he gets going. The combination of size, skill, and fluidity is really impressive.

There isn't much from the stat sheet that would catch your attention when it comes to Winslow II. He finished with just one bucket and a few rebounds. However, the 6'3" junior wing was consistently involved defensively and used his length to record three blocked shots. We had the opportunity to see him a few times over the summer and really liked his upside. Now, as a starter for New Albany, he will be an important X-Factor for a super talented Bulldogs team. He stuffed the stat sheet finishing with 2 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 blocked shots. His impact went well beyond the stat sheet as well.
